The Texas Rangers

Looks like they are about the clinch the AL Title. They are looking very solid to win the championship this year. I don't know how St Louis or Milwaukee are going to keep up with them.

I thought you were talking about the border patrol show on Nat Geo. Who gives a fuck about baseball anymore? The Blue Jays will never win as long as a joke of a corporation like Rogers owns the team. The sad thing is that the Blue Jays now only exist to fill out Roger's Sportsnet basic cable broadcast schedule, and sell commercials.

The Blue Jays used to be a team that contended for championships (they even used to beat the Yankees and the Red Sox. Maybe they even won a championship or two - I can't remember - It was sooo long ago... About 18 years...)

I can't remember because the most useless piece of shit monopoly in Eastern Canada owns the team and they ONLY own it to attract viewers to their shitty little cable sports channel. Rogers has admitted they don't care about baseball. They don't want to win - they want idiots (like me) to watch Blue Jays baseball on Sportsnet.

Now all I hear is that Toronto is a small market. WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK? The Blue Jays broke attendance records year after year. They won two World Series in a row.

Then Interbrew bought the team, then Rogers bought the team. And life has sucked as a Canadian basball fan ever since.

I would have no problem digging up Ted Rogers' (and what an idiot piece of shit that pathetic "man" was) corpse, punching his dead body repeatedly in the face, then beating his children to death with their father's skeleton.

Not one member of that shitty monopoly cares about anything beyond how much they can soak you on your next cable bill.

That's right, Toronto does have a baseball team. Isn't that the stadium where a tv camera caught a couple fucking in a hotel room in centerfield.

I remmember I had some hat of Blue Jays when I was kid - thought they were semi-pros or something in the same begining is that right?
baseball is no popular sport here in central europe - we play slowpitch and fastpitch here -I have subsidized the local team for years - lot of US guys from GFY helped me to buy equipment and UA wear in US
Was great times when I play

Yea, pretty crazy. They were on the verge of winning until the steve bartman incident a while back. And if you caught any of the Rangers game yesterday, they were winning 9-2 and the same thing happened to them, a fan in the stands caught a fowl ball that was in play next to the stands, the Tigers scored right after that. Luckily the Texas lineup is a bunch of beats and scored another 6 runs. I was thinking to myself, if they lose because of this 1 out. It would have been nuts.

Cubs are on the verge of signing Theo Epstein. He is the General Manager that took the Redsox out of the Curse of the Bambino, hopefully he will bring the same luck.

18 years? I don't think the Blue jays have been to the postseason since they won back to back World Championships in 92-93. They had a great team in the late 80's, early 90's though: Roberto Alomar, Dave Winfield, Joe Carter, Ricky Henderson, Paul Molitor. I'll never forget that walk-off homerun Joe Carter hit off of Wild Thing to win the 93' World Series, Philly fans HATED Mitch Williams after that game. I loved him because at the time I had just started pitching in Babe Ruth League and my coach nicknamed me Wild Thing because I beaned so many batters.

The Blue Jays are just unlucky to be stuck in the AL East with the Yankees and Boston otherwise they probably would've had a couple more postseason appearances since then. At least you have Jose Bautista to watch.....

Have the Maple Leafs ever won a Stanley Cup? They're a pretty unlucky team, too.

This years World Series match-up is a good one though, but I see the Rangers taking it. Milwaukee did a pretty good job of beating themselves, their defense is fuckin terrible. I don't think i've seen that many errors in the postseason, ever.

The Cards keep surprising me, but I fell like Texas has the swag and the chip on their shoulder from last year. I'm excited to see what happens, either way.

Yeah, I would love to see Cashman gone and have Theo manage the Yanks but thats a tough move from Boston. If he signs with Cubs, I'd imagine he can bring a WS there.

Yea. Imagine Cashman and Epstein switch places. That would be pretty crazy. I think the Cubs need a lot more then a GM, and it will take a few good pieces for them to get anywhere close. If they could sign a Pujols or Fielder. They might have a possibility. They have no pitching and from news I have read it is basically a free for all there. They need a new coach who disciplines. They got a long road past a GM.

As for this upcoming series. I can't imagine the cards winning this series unless they hit like crazy. The Rangers will be the first team in a while who wins a series on hitting along. They have a few OK pitches but no dominant ACE. I think there was a stat that said all of the games they won in either this series or the last, all of the W's was given to a pitcher in the bullpen. Not one starting pitcher had a W. The Cards have 75% of a good pitcher in Carpenter. He was lights out in the game against the Philles that took them to the NLDS. But he is no longer of the Elite caliber of pitchers like a Hallady or Lincicum. They can put up runs, but not like the Rangers.

It should be a fun series to watch.

I was expecting a slugfest tonight not a 3-2 game. Cold weather does kind of lend its hands to low scoring games though. The matchup is pretty close but I like the Rangers in six. Without Carpenter on the mound the Cards are going to give up a lot more runs tommorow night so we'll see if their offense can balance that out. I have to say Tony LaRussa proved again tonight why he's one of the best managers in baseball. Good call pinch hitting Allen Craig for Carpenter in the sixth, that move won them the game.
