They measure the surfer when he clicks back (back button) to the search page. Not all click back but enough do to let them know what is up.

Time on site and repeat is what all my sites that took huge dive did not have

The answer is right here...
Percentage of actual click-backs returning to Google, for phase A, on the target website of at least X size, with Y amount of content on target page [ content sub variables T, W] , and on a page level, the page having properties of P, Q, l in some combination.

Thats the initial trigger that signals a further Panda look inside your website. If you dont trip that trigger, Panda wont go any further.

The internet and world is huge. You only fail when you fall. It kinda seems as if you don't know what Affiliate Marketing is. Your only trained in doing what you were taught. Mix your ideas with training..

They have Chrome and Android platforms ping them the data. Why do you think they are so keen to give away free the new Google netbooks?

My mainstream ECPM with them is around 10$

You could be right on this. They are certainly up to something with porn and I have been watching a lot of testing they have been doing with porn during the last 12 months. They are going to phase it out of their serps, or in some way isolate it, etc. Hard to be sure, but it wont be part of the regular serps. Google have a long history of banishing things they dont like, MFA, Content farms. cc domains, etc.

cherrylula 10-20-2011 06:09 AM

I keep saying it, but Facebook > Google. It just isn't as easy as "set it and forget it" anymore. Social circles are forming on the internet, and if you don't grasp that you will lose. There are just too many sites on the internet now.

I miss the good ole days when google would dance, and we would too when the checks came in.

5million impressions a day from parked domain would be some tasty crumbs. I could eat well for sometime on that.

Sorry to hear you over paid for domains

I think every country should have own local search engine. Google is dominating everywhere.

As far as I know only Russia (yandex), Czech Republic (seznam) and maybe a few other countries have own search engine.

look hobbyist, I'm sure your self esteem feels great when you make an idiot comment towards one of your betters but please son, don't project that onto me. Christ, I've never noticed or heard of you before your little boy "not very impressive" comment.

For the record my shit is doing better lately with G. So who knows. I cant think of a bigger headache than trying to predict Google.

Yahoo and Bing love my latest site. Sadly, it doesn't do too much for me. Wish it did.

My latest site has super low bounce, great time on site, etc. (thousands of full length scenes we own and give away for free) but Google just isn't digging it much yet. 75% of URLs are indexed by G but it's not sending as much traffic as it would have in the past.

Patiently waiting...

If you read the info at Google's Webmaster Central blog... 23 questions for webmasters and publishers... it's hard to envision how affiliate marketers will be able to tackle the challenge of building sites and blogs that meet these new "high quality" standards. So, it's reasonable to believe that even if your site has not yet been affected by Panda, it soon will be if it doesn't meet these standards... it's probably only a matter of time.

search for anything health related and you will see that panda is very imperfect. all the results are garbage, shit spun and scraped articles. google has a long way to go to live up to their own standards.

Think about it... no ads on porn seaches = no money for google... if they set up a .xxx search then they can probably feel better about themselves and make $ with ads there

and the way they keep hemoraging money on crap like google+ and wave and all the 1000s of other countless things that don't even make it to the beta stage, google will only be focusing on things they can make money on...

as for facebook and social for porn... remember when adult killed myspace? yeah... these guys won't let that happen

if you guys aren't working on a way to not be a slave to google then it won't be the tubes that kill you... it will be your own lazy ignorance

Good point... I don't know how health-related topics stack up in quantity against porn or gambling topics... but maybe Panda is first being aimed at areas where there's the most duplication of content and the poorest quality of webmastering... seems porn might qualify here. It's not a far-fetched notion to suggest that 75% or more affiliate-built porn sites are employing SEO tactics that are very close to black hat, if not straight out SEO tricky and scammy. Reminds me of that scene from the George Clooney - Salma Hayek movie about vampires... when Cheech Marin was out front of the bar huckstering... "we got hairy pussy, pink pussy, teen pussy, black pussy, tight pussy, stinky pussy, chica pussy, MILF pussy, bald pussy, shaved pussy" and so on. The point is made... we got pussy. There's only so many ways you can say it, and it's only original and unique once.

don't be naive. mainstream sites are are light years ahead and more shady when it comes to manipulating google. billion dollar businesses like demand media are built upon techniques and work flows that would be considered black hat a few years ago. porn is so amateur hour it's kind of cute.

porno jew 10-20-2011 08:04 PM

porn is a huge part of the search business. compare the top google searches for porn keywords compared to mainstream. no comparison. tons of people search for porn.

The people clamoring about adwords and how it is trying to kill affiliate porn is a bunch of nonsense...

Couple opinions of mine that may not be shared by all, but if you don't agree, fuck you...

1. This update didn't have anything to do with adwords

2. They weighed in social links much more heavily than they were (until recently, there was debate until recently weather social link juice counted at all) - social media is today's DMOZ, it's the "human" factor in the SERPS

3. Like I said earlier, it's all about time on site, returning traffic these days - do you have every portion of your site where google could potentially gather information about your visors blocked with a robots.txt file? Hmmm....

4. There is more emphasis on building quality content. For example, pornhub is #1 for porn and will be VERY hard to move, in spite of the fact Google is very aware they bought shit tons of links to get where they are...why don't they do anything? Because you type "porn" and you get to a site where there is 10000's of hours of porn, you stay there for a long time, and you come back....that's called QUALITY - even though I don't agree with Mansef's ethics.

5. Somebody tried to bring up .xxx in this --- .XXX is a joke company that is run by idiots and is no threat at all. Google, last I understand, had made the decision to not index or depreciate .XXX domains just like they do .WS or even .net

Exactly. I see sites that are on the top of the first page with Bing and Yahoo and deserves to be there as it is def what people are looking for for certain kws. Yet they barely show up with G.

So the surfer is not always finding what they want with G now days.

I think accuracy and relevancy which used to be most important to SEs in the earlier days (and still is with Yahoo and Bing) is being replaced with things that are more relevant to Google's own bottom line.

They prob figure now that they got the traffic, time to start jerking the surfer around for their own profit. Not much you can do if that's the case.

They will hopefully "think" their way (with their approx 200 ranking standards, which is rediculous) out of being number 1 eventually.
