It's not just about views though.

If someone favorite a video and watch it 1000 times then you only have one view
showing but youtube has shown 1000 ads!

Plus, you may be watching your own videos many times, so when you think about it
even if you are the only one watching your videos but are watching them over and
over again then why not show you ads! You are a potential customer too.

I don't know about you, but to me, money is money. If I can pop out a pile of videos that are gonna get a bunch of views and I can cash in on it, I'd surely do it because in the end, it's all about the money ;)

I got it as well. yep its a rev earning opp. You put up the videos and make the traffic and once the account has earned some cash they slam it for linking to the wrong thing and keep that money. Rev opp for them if there ever was one.
