I have stayed there myself a few times. It's a nice hotel. I do not like to drive back across the state, 2-3 hours, after going to a concert. I've been told it is one of the nicest of the Detroit casinos and has most of the trendy nightclubs I guess. Although I have never been to the others. You had a nice view of the Ambassador bridge out your bedroom window,.... over the war zone.Comment

There is a lot of beautiful architecture in some of those older homes when you drive through Detroit. Even downtown, you have some of these Cathedrals that are just amazing. Kinda sad to see how far it's fallen from the glory days. It almost brings a tear to ye eye to see some of these building that were once lovely, and now are all blown out and look like they are in Beirut. There are even some downtown by Ford Field, and Comerica Park.

Btw, I grew up in the Detroit area. Most of my family lives in the Detroit area.
Lets see.... My Stepfathers mother was stabbed in the eye with a screwdriver while taking money out of an atm.
My cousin was shot and killed at a house party.
My sisters friend was raped and murdered by a crackhead.
My brother was beaten and mugged after parking his car and walking to a Lions game.
I was mugged twice in my lifetime living in that area.
Growing up, our house was broken into and vandalized on several occasions.
My car had 3 stereos stolen, one time they took the entire speaker installations out.
Just recently, I was loading my luggage from a downtown hotel and the shuttle bus driver pulls up behind me and honks his horn for me to move. I didn't move fast enough so he gets out of his shuttle bus and chases me out of the parking lot with a bat. And this guy was employed by the hotel. LOL.

I see your from Canada... I had the privilege of visiting Toronto this summer. Very nice city. I had a great time there. Hard to believe Detroit is so close. Even Niagra Falls on the US side is a dump. Just cross the bridge into Canada, and it's fucking nice.
