This is what we have become?

Todd asked for anonymity before agreeing to be interviewed, but not for the reason you?d expect: He's not embarrassed -- he recently gave his wife roses he found in a dumpster, and she loved them. He's afraid of competition.

"I am running into more and more competition for first access to bins all the time," he said. ?I keep bumping into people when I?m out there.?

America, land of the dumpster divers.

I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.

What the fuck are you talking about "this is what we've become". There have been "dumpster divers" since before America was even discovered.

        Idiot.

been going on forever. i used to do it in new orleans when i was "between houses" heh...

think of it this way- more recycling and less shit in the landfill.

seriously alot of stuff people throw away does not constitute "trash."

I think that it's great if it's helping him make ends meet for his family. As long as he's taking precautions, what's the harm?

I look at it the same way.

I don't like throwing things out that can be reused by other people, it's a total waste of resources. Unfortunately most people throw out too many "good" things.

The guy telling that story is a certified program manager and works. I would have thought the wages he makes from his job would be enough to make ends meet ?

there are a number of people around the burbs here in ottawa who rummage through the trash on garbage days and then sell it at yard sales.
