“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
Also, removal of the static status bar and numerous other features was a fucking stupid idea. Would it really have pained them so much to just leave these features in? Seems like more work to actually eliminate them rather than just let them be. Now you have to rely on a 3rd party add-on to keep the status bar visible at all times because a bunch of netbook-toting, bieber-generation twats want to maximize screen space. Now every time you update (or if you start having problems with browser crashes) you have to ask yourself, will this add-on be compatible with the update? Is this add-on causing problem X? For simple features and functions that should come as standard. Pisses me the fuck off.
It can all be changed in settings. If you are about to enter an insecure site, your browser will generally notify you.. Or your virus protection software. Right?
Firefox's older brother Mozilla Seamonkey isn't getting the dumbing down treatment. Seamonkey is intended more for webmasters and other technically competent people and I've always thought it to be better of the pair.
