Its simple.....

get lots of cash!
take yourself on a nice little holiday to Argentina and sample some fine ladies..... then take it out of his pay cheque for your inconvenience.... he still gets his money without being stole and you get a nice couple of days in Argentina!

sounds good?

.:Frog:. 02-02-2003 09:57 AM

epassporte or Western Union.

I've been to countries where you can't use a credit card at all. I've been to countries where they didn't even have a decent telephone system...

All of the world isn't like that heaven you live in out there in California...

Yep, there are lots of atms everywhere here, but they have 'pesos' (it's not like hollywood wants you to believe, all of southamerica is not a tropical jungle with monkeys running around) :)

Saludos , Pablo .

For all non spanish speakers, this what he said:

Open an account in any private bank here in Uruguay and transfer the money here. If not just ask them to send a check via FedEX and then cross the border and do the exchange here, which only costs 1% of the ammount of the check.
Or just have them use WU to a place in Uruguay and then come pick it up. And since we are in summer right now just come down to Punta del Este and take a small vacation and get your cash.

BTW I have friends in Punta del Este. =)

That's the beauty. Anyone with an epassporte Electron card can use it to withdraw cash in any country... in that countires currency. Peer-toPeer transfers are instant and cost a helluva lot less than Western Union without any of the headaches.

Not only is epassporte quick, easy, and inexpensive compared to all other P2P methods, but cardholders can be anonymous. All accounting is online and your account name can be whatever you want it to be.

Kimmykim 02-02-2003 03:19 PM

So Rand, you are saying that someone in Argentina CAN receive money on an epassporte, am I reading this correctly?

That was one of the things that impressed me about the system when I saw it at the show, the fact that those paypal type limitations would go away for the person RECEIVING money. It might be a bit more tricky for an Argentine to load money onto the card, but they can still get it out in at least one manner.

Can you make sure I am on the right track here Rand?

Thanks

Pablo, estás seguro? :( Las noticias de Uruguay parecen ser exactamente las mismas que sucedieron en Argentina

Roberto (and other): not everyone is corrupt, not even closer to that 99.99%. 99.99% of politicians are, that's for sure, most of them are in US banks payroll or CIA or both of them, but most of the people works hard and honestly. Argentina is a very rich country under economic and militar slavery from IMF (FMI) and USA, so let's cut the crap, I'm not corrupt (I'm not Argentinian, by the way) and none of the people I know is corrupt

Captain Canada: yes, you're right (and thanx for your biz, by the way :thumbsup )

KK... Chris here for Rand...

Yes. He can load value himself with any credit card, or by wire if he opens an epassporte Commercial Account. Or, he can have value loaded from another webmaster paying him for traffic, whatever. This is all online, real-time. Then he orders an epassporte, which he can get via mail, ups, whatever. He sets his PIN and goes to ANY ATM and gets his cash.

Tried with an international visa and electron debit card, denied.

Rand 02-03-2003 10:52 AM

Roberto,

Are you saying you were denied for an epassporte virtual account?

If so, I'd be very interested in finding out why. Hit me up at [email protected] with the details. The only reason you should be denied is if the card was no good or did not have avaialbe credit.

Lily 02-03-2003 11:09 AM

I lived in Uruguay and traveled in Argentina and I never had a problem getting money via Western Union.

I know things are bad there though, for sure. My "brother" lives in Buenos Aires now and was born and raised in both Argentina and Uruguay and he's abandoning ship and moving back here...

It seems like there's no easy answer to this question if Western Union isn't trusted.

well, idiot, the people in your so called "banana country" had a better living than 99.99% of czech in all their friggan history. That "banana country" hosted my family when they were running from starving after war, not only to us, but all european countries people. Including yours (which, btw, I love, I know not everybody is as braindead as you). Everything changed due to a serie of happenings driven by USA and their clowns from IMF. Still, even after this economic massacre happened in last 10 years, medium-low class here eat better than you, and not exactly bananas. You as an European has no right to criticize Argentina because even when you were commies you ate from what Argentina sent you, OK? I'm not Argentinian by birth (I'm Italian) but I cannot be more grateful to this country and its people. Go back and sell your "KGB relics" in Prague streets :321GFY

For all: who said you can't pay by WU? that's totally untrue. I get WU, wire transfers, moneybookers and checks every fucking day, never had a problem (exception made of a month when I couldn't cash money). We only cannot take Paypal. We can pay, but cannot take money (no kidding! :BangBang: ), and that's all. All the other stories in this thread about not being posible to pay to Argentina are 100% untrue (maybe people not from Buenos Aires would need to go to Buenos Aires, but that's all). The only real thing happening is that people loves Paypal and we cannot take it. Other than that, you can pay in almost any possible way

Milo: just try to send, I'm always in invisible as I told you before.
