				CCBILL Regional Pricing

I just enabled regional pricing on all of my CCBill sites to see what that's like. Is this a popular option with CCBill webmasters? I'm worried I might lose sales from other countries so I thought I would ask if this is an issue. Right now I am using CCBill adjusted rates but they told me I can set them for a more accurate exchange.

I just had a Canadian pay $41.79 CAD for a one month membership that is priced $34.95 US. Seems a little pricey to me since currently the Canadian dollar is a few cents less than a US dollar. I'm wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot here.

Since I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Peabody, I will do just that. I would also like to hear from any webmasters on this board that actually have sites that use CCBILL.

I posted on this a couple of days ago and was told you can turn of regional pricing for some countries.

Turning it off for Canada was exactly what I was going to do as I also think the CCBill exchange is too high. |

not sure where you guys are getting this? I have regional pricing on and my sales from canada are only a few dolloars higher, but damn... gotta love that euro right now, among a few others.... I had the same concern when turning regional pricing on, but didn't really notice a drop in sales, did notice some joins going up to seventy something dollars instead of 39.95... your choice, but i'm leaving mine on!

It was the greatest thing since sliced bread about 2 years ago. Then sales tanked and turned that option off.

Now sales are tanking for all kinds of reasons so why not, scrape every penny you can and try and stay afloat ;) |

I enabled ours yesterday... so far not so happy with the outcome.

However, the billing week isn't over yet, so it can only turn for the better. How have your "new sales" been like since you enabled regional billing?

hmmmm..... now that I think about it, before I got the company it was set up on epoch, when I took over we moved it to ccbill. and instantly set it to regional billing. would be nice to know the difference others experiance, I guess in my case I couldn't give an accurate answer for change in sales since, the whole company is ran different.

I have sold 2 Canadian memberships for $41.79 CAD, which is weird considering the exchange rate puts the Canadian dollar at about .96 cents US.

I was told yesterday by CCBill that they can adjust the regional billing to be more in line with proper exchange rates. I'm going to call them today and see if I can get that done. I don't want any chargebacks or refunds because of the pricing being so far off on some of the country prices.

I appreciate that this makes me more money, but it is a little unethical it seems to me because I cannot justify the increase for any reason beyond greed. If regional pricing cannot be adjusted to show current exchange rates, what would be the point of using it? Exactly what do "fixed ratios" mean versus "fixed pricing"? Currency exchange is dynamic and changes daily. I don't want to penalize my possible clients outside of the US by charging them more than the dollar is worth.

OK, I just got a proper explanation from CCBILL. If I turn off regional pricing. Anyone in any other country is going to pay the proper exchange rate at the exact time they join one of my sites. Which is what I thought in the first place. So I am disabling that feature in my sites. The one thing I don't understand is what the hell regional pricing is for in the first place? Just sounds like a device you can use to put it to your foreign customers. Not too sure that isn't something that would tend to backfire on you.
