Have a 4 yr-old 15" MBP, still runs great. But does need a battery for the 3rd time. Rather than a new battery, got the 11" Air with the lager drive & i7 core. Use an external monitor & keyboard with number pad at home. Only problem, just 2 usb ports, so I can't plug in an external HD as the mouse & keyboard are usb.
Got the air for the weight factor. Also fits great in the leather portfolio my GF picked up at a garage sale. Since I plan to be doing a lot of traveling to small towns, got the Verizon mobile wifi hotspot. That little box almost weighs as much as the Air. For that matter, the portfolio weighs more than the Air.
Biggest concern I have is if the battery ever goes dead, It's going to be a pain to have to take it in for a few days service. Have seen YouTube videos on DIY.

Just get a USB hub, buy a powered one so you do not get those "not enough power" errors.

In other words, Mac fanboys are hipsters. As if anyone didn't know that already.

Had been meaning to get one, but forgot about it. Somewhere I might have one, but can't remember where or if it's powered.
So far the Air has one annoying problem. Occasionally closed the lid and when I reopen it, black screen. have to hit the power button twice. Then all the programs have shut down, including works in progress. Forums have suggested it may be using an external monitor. Others, Parallels which I use was open and the program being used. That was more likely the case.
Also ever since Parallels 3 now up to 7, any changes in toolbars (such as in Excel) or getting rid of all those stupid MS sounds (this has only happened in 7) works until I close Parallels, they they revert to default. Minor pain, but still.
But it all beats owning a PC. Windows 98 got so corrupted that I had to reinstall it 10 times in one day to get it and the printer to work. Part of the problem, Windows doesn't really reformat your hard drive completely. To "help" you, some key files (about 2 MB in Win 98) don't reformat. You have to do a reformat, repartition, then spend the next 2 hours reinstalling Windows.
Never had to reinstall OS X. Can't even remember where the operating disks are.
Still have friends wanting me to reinstall XP as their system got corrupted or virused.

Figure what your time is worth, Then figure what you spend jacking with MS. To install a program, sometimes can take 1/2 hour. In OS X, most are drag new icon to Applications folder.

You're doing something wrong if it takes you a half hour to install a program

So you bought a useless Intel-based PC with a tiny screen. One that you can't repair by yourself, but just so happens to run whatever OS Apple is selling you fanboys this year - so its cool.

You must look so cool carting it around, though. Fuck Apple and their disposable - yet oh so very pretty - pieces of shit.

Once you go Mac, you never go back

I've owned 4 PCs, an IBM Think Pad with OS2 (way underpowered for the software, but never crashed), an Osborne "Portable," a HP Netbook (what junk) and 4 Macs. Only reason I run Parallels, is for ACT! and a few other programs, I like better than Mac programs. I even worked with one of the software writers who wrote ACT! for an add-on he created. He had overlooked a few glitches in the program, nobody else spotted.
Only hardware problem with Mac, was video card they replaced out of warranty. Genius Bar always fixes any problem for free, I can't solve. Try that at Best Buy with a PC.
Oldest Mac still in house is 4 years old. The older one got stolen out of the house. Was still working after 3 years despite dropping it twice. Damaged case.
As I said, I'll probably change the battery myself. Already have a set of the funky screwdrivers from when I replaced the battery in the MBP.
As for it taking 30 minutes installing a Win program. They aren't all that bad, but it wasn't my problem. Program install system was crap. Hell I've have install programs insisting on installing I.E.3 when I already had I.E.4 installed. Installing XP on the Mac is a 3 hour ordeal.
Oh yeah, when you buy a new PC, enjoy all that trial software that sucks up your hard drive. Then you have to buy extra software to get off the orphan files Uninstall doesn't remove.

Oh Yeah I do look cool

Yes I do look cool with the Air.
Try reading "Dress For Success." You look successful, act positive and sure of yourself people perceive you to be successful, whether you are or not and be more receptive to you and any thing you might be selling.
