A couple hundred dollars. The small diamonds don't add much of any value. It's the center stone that matters. Weigh it to get the gold value. Figure $30 per gram minus profit for a dealer. With the poor economy and weak dollar sending gold prices so high, it could be worth up to $500 max I'd guess.

trade it for something nicer and you'll get closer to the actual value.

They lied. But it is probably like 1k now. Don't part it out as you will get a few hundred only.

Probably not much. Quality is pretty bad. Looks like something you would buy at the mall. Appraisals are always higher than actual value.

yea ive always known the appraisals are generally just for insurance purposes.

It was my grandmothers wedding band so ill never really get rid of it.

Just took it down to a local place that buys and they offered $1000 for it

In the pic, the smaller stones appear larger than I had guessed. I was picturing dozens of very tiny ones.

The "appraisal" also depends very much on if it's a truly independent appraisal. Jewelry sites well include an appraisal fine by their appraiser that is nothing more than marketing.

Take that offer and don't look back.

The color is terrible if the rating is true (and is GIA). The size is incredibly small, and it's not set in anything overly interesting. Melt value on the setting, recovery value on the stones, you're not looking at more than $150 from anyone who knows what they're looking at -- and that's with a four leaf clover in your pocket.

If someone really offered you $1,000, get it in writing and save it with the ring -- your heirs might not have the sentimental value attachment, and they will want to keep track of this guy's next of kin .. maybe they'll make silly offers, too.

Not trying to be harsh, just trying to give you some reality. Replacement value on W 47th street is less than $200. Keystone on that type of ring is from triple key to 7 key typically, and insurance appraisals can top 30 key.

Oh, and by the way .. I looked at diamonds for so long that I can see an SI1 clarify inclusion with my naked eye in most cases. That is terrible quality. Most jewelers can also see the inclusions in SI1/SI2/I1/I2 diamonds with their naked eye, but CERTAINLY can with a loupe.

Take it and run man. I was trying to sell my ex wives wedding ring a year ago. Anyone that saw it was like WOW WOW WOW. Truth is I paid 3k for it at sams, I think the appraisel sheet that came with it said like 20k, but it really did look like a 20k ring. Anyway I took it to a coin shop of a buddy he had 3 different jewelry guys all tell him it's only worth 2k. However it's eye apeal was outa this world so I asked my buddy to take it to a coin show and try to get 3k for it He got 3.5k for it. From the pics you posted eye apeal is not so good, so $1000 is prolly the most your gonna get for it.

And yes, when I divorced the bitch I took her ring. Took her engagement rings also. LOL
