Photoshop Problem :::
Hi gang, any of you had this issue with Photoshop? I'm using CS 5.1 Extended....
I have a picture open in PS and I open up a plugin, the plugin interface opens up "behind" the image that have open...instead of in front of it. I can't move the image so I have to move the plugin interface to my other screen in order to use it. It doesn't do this will all plugins but it does it with a few. Any idea what's causing this? Thanks!!! |

Never heard of that, take a screenshot. Do you have ur photos open in a stretchable window or is it maximized within PS?
I only have my photos maximized and on tabs, I don't understand how anything could get behind the way photoshop is, well the way mine is laid out anyway, which is pretty much default Or are you talking about behind the whole program? I dont think thats what you mean though. Like do you mean you have to minimize photoshop to see it? |

I don't like to use tabs in PS.
So I'm working on a picture...for example. I go to filters and come down and open up a plugin. The plugin interface usually opens up in front of the image that I'm working on. After I apply the plugin, the interface goes away leaving the image with the new plugin effects applied. For most of my plugins, this is how it goes but for a few, the interface opens up behind the image that I'm working on - very strange. Here's a screencap - http://deancapture.com/screenshot.jpg So in order to use the plugin, I have to move it to another window because the picture in front of the plugin gets in the way. |

To be honest, never had the issue because i use tabs and it would appear that might be the only way to fix your problem because im pretty sure its in the coding of the plugin, it doesn't have the right priority to be the main window when it opens up, im no programmer but if I were to guess ,the problem would lie in the programming of the plugin. Sorry im no help.

I know... I meant the windows inside photo shop - if they are not maximized they are like little windows inside the main work window

how can i maximize an image within the boundaries of the main Photoshop window? i can't stand that PS lets windows go beyond - i want everything to be contained within the main PS application window. PS used to be this way, most of the time with multiple images and documents open in PS i have to rummage around to find the main PS window hidden behind other open documents.

Sorry fell asleep. Drag the window to the border of the inside of the photoshop window. Heres a screenshot http://www.autumnriley.com/screenshot_ps.jpg |

Talking with one of the plugin companies and it seems that Adobe has changed a few things about CS5.1 -vs- CS4. In CS4, I can use the same plugin with no problems. But in CS5.1 Extended, I have open the images in tabs and turn off the application frame in order for the plugin to work correctly. The plugin company was able to replicate the issue and they're working on a fix for it now.
I don't like working with tabs so I have that option turned off. I also don't like seeing my desktop while I'm using Photoshop (I'm on a Mac) so I have the Applications Frame turned on, which gives me a grey background and covers up my desktop when using Photoshop. 99% of my plugins work just fine like this but 3 of them are problematic with this set up. I can still use them but with a bit of inconvenience. Thanks for your replies..... |
