Acacia announces 8 adult companies have paid them - who are the 8?

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Feb 14, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq:ACTG)(Nasdaq:CBMX) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Acacia Media Technologies Corporation, has entered into 8 license agreements for its DMT technology with Adult Entertainment companies that provide access to or transmit digital audio and video content via the Internet.

Acacia also announced today that it has initiated patent infringement litigation in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against 39 Adult Entertainment companies. All of the defendants were previously notified of their infringing activity.

sounds like a penny-stock shell company using a press release to hype itslef up. Sounds like they are a zombie company using this patent thing to justify its existence and pump the stock price up.

You'd be surprised I'm sure. I bet it's some big names man. I know the popular opinion is that it's small game guys, but I beg to differ.

I know of one rather large content provider who cut a deal with them. Or was going to.

I read a related article a few weeks ago, one large mainstream company said they would most likely pay. Don't remember which one though.

They're saying they own the rights to "Digital Media Technology".

Muuuhaaahaaa ya gotta love these fucking attorneys. Best thing to do if you get fucked would be to buy their stock so you're basically giving money to yourself.
