Anyone use youtube's servers for encoding videos?

I found it easier, to upload videos to youtube account, make them private, the encoding is easier for people that hate programs like ffmpeg getting the correct settings, or other programs like videocharge if you are a noobie in that depeartment.

After its encoded, download all formats, then delete it.

Not speaking about Adult videos, so Im not sure about that category.

It would be cool to have a wordpress plugin that you add your youtube account details also the destination of the encoded files, have a submit button to add to the site then deleted from youtube automatically in the background.

I have a 6 core processor and 12gb of ram. I own a legit copy of a few different video editing programs and consider myself an expert with ffmpeg and video encoding in general and I think mooching off of youtube is a pretty good idea. Get over yourself, kiddo.

Well... I had a feeling it's a professionals' board, not "sports" fanatics. If you expect to earn money you need to invest money and you as "an expert with ffmpeg and video encoding in general" are pretty funny for me, but carry on with your sport

It's a great way to convert videos for amateurs, I agree in 100%, but not for professionals - you would breach their TOS in all possible ways and it's really time consuming. If you think seriously about your business, you invest in proper dedicated video encoding hardware - that's my opinion.

Ok... there was nothing aggressive in what I said at the beginning - I got used to constructive opinions, it really helps in business. You seem to have a problem, so carry on... It doesn't affect me in any way. Hopefully professionals will look into proper encoding hardware and amateurs will look into youtube encoding as an alternative.

If you didn't find anything aggressive about your initial post in this thread you really are fucking stupid. Anyway...

The people who will use youtube to handle encoding are doing short clips. Very few of us are doing full-length videos. If I encoded full-length videos I might invest in some actual encoding hardware...but I don't.

Many of us are encoding short clips server side. I encode locally and upload since I use stream switching on some of my sites and I need several different resolutions of each video. Encoding a weeks worth of video for blog updates takes ~30 minutes when using multiple cores. Uploading the videos is more of a headache than encoding. For anyone to spend money unnecessarily would be a bad business decision despite what some douchebag kid on an internet forum says.

It would really be nice to nab you for a few hours every now and then when I run into something confusing. It wouldn't have to be immediate either, just whenever you could schedule it in. I know it's not as simple as that, but you do have all around excellent taste.
