I take a much bigger "risk" of dying everytime I drive my car than Charlie Sheen has ever taken doing blow and getting laid!

More people die from prescription drug abuse than cocaine by a lonnnnngggg shot as well.

And when he does die (probably from old age) his kids are going to be millionaires.

I just wish I had grown up with a dad so "selfish". :) It'd be nice to inherit millions of dollars and grow up in the lifestyle that Sheen's kids are growing up in (living in a mansion with millions of dollars)

it might work when you're rich as fuck and can hire someone to take care of the kids but they are gonna fucked when they grow up. most of the people you mentioned were barely fathers at all, they were gone most of the time and the kids probably resent them big time for it.

however some broke ass welfare mom who lets her kids sit in shitty diapers all day because shes too cracked out to do anything is not cool at all.

As for what their kids think of them...that's something that neither of us can know.

By the way, I read the Keith Richards book this year. His kids are grown up and love the guy to death. They are quoted all through the book. :) And believe me...he makes Sheen look like a choirboy. lol

So it's not all gloom and doom for a person who likes to party and fuck whores AND loves their kids too. :)

I'm sure he loves his kids but how often did he really see them? Its hard to know. My only point is that money can't buy parental love and being raised by a nanny or some other stranger has got to suck. sure they'll get millions but at what cost? not to say its impossible to do it all but 9 times out 10, when you're a junkie like keith was for many years, drugs come before family.

Well, according to his book...his son Marlon lived with him and even went on the road with him. But the adventures were crazy to say the least. lol But family is tighter than people give credit for.

As for Sheen...I read this last year his former wives were always the problem with him seeing his kids. They have argued that his "lifestyle" isn't conducive to his kids well being. But other than that...I see plenty of pics in the gossip mags and online of him with his kids. At games, on vacation, at dinner, etc.

He's an adult. We all love our kids. But I'm a grown man and like everyone else I don't sit staring lovingly at my kids 24 hours a day. I work, I play, I do a million things. And like Charlie Sheen (or at least the paparazzi photos of him)...I go to see their school plays, take them to the movies, etc.

I think we are all presuming too much.
The press reported on him doing crazy shit when his kids were at their mom's house. They didn't report on the boring stuff when the kids were with him.

Hell, if the press followed me on a wild Saturday night...or one of the times I've went on a wild vacation and partied and fucked for 3 days (for instance an internext show lol)... and that's all they told anybody about me...I'd look pretty bad too. lol

Like I said, its easier when you have a place to send the kids off to, when you have all the money in the world to blow on blow and still be able to pay the mortgage, the heat, etc but these same people without the money would have their kids taken away and spend the money on drugs instead of the kids, as they wouldn't have so much. i don't have kids yet but accept that things will change and i will have to calm things down to some degree when i do. i don't want my kids seeing me all fucked up, etc.

But Marlon's own words in Keef's book tell a much different tale. He grew up smart and tough and quick on his feet.

His childhood was awesome.

Lots of people have traumatic things happen. For instance my wife was 3 years old when her mother was shot to death right in front of her. Her family was dirt poor (none of the millions that poor Marlon was forced to live in luxury with), etc.
And yet, she came out the sweetest, smartest, and most good hearted well adjusted person you could ever ask for.

Hell, if anything I think we BABY kids too much these days. Heck we still call them "kids" when they are 18. Don't let 'em drink, etc.
So they end up dependent and vulnerable well into their 20's.

Marlon Richards was ready for anything and everything the world had to offer by the time he was a young teen. Plus he was rich as hell and could have any woman he wanted just because of who his dad was.

I think these celebrity kids absolutely have it made. :) Do a lot of them turn up screwed up anyway? Yep. I guess it's human nature for some to have "emotional issues" just because they have the luxury of having them.

I mean if they were "ordinary" people most of the wouldn't have time to have emotional issues caused by mommy and daddy. They would be too busy trying to make a living and shit.

But that's just my opinion. Everybody is different. Marlon Richards turned out great. So did Keith Richard's daughter. How much is "nurture" vs. "nature"? Who knows.

Agreed. And I never let my kids even see me drink a beer. But that's just the way I was raised and I guess we each do what we think is right.

But people without money don't necessarily have their kids taken away. 99% of them don't have their kids taken just because they might be drug addicts or drunks, etc.

I lived in South Carolina before I moved here to Vegas. And the meth problem in small "country" rural areas like I lived in is HORRIBLE. The state of South Carolina would be bankrupt immediately if they tried to take the kids of all the trailer trash living there on meth. lol
