PHOTOGRAPHERS: Have you tried the new Impossible (Polaroid) film? (Lots of naked pics)

I've been playing around with both the new 600 and Spectra b&w films... the black is a kind of dark sepia, and the whites are very creamy. It's a beautiful film... here's a link to their website: http://the-impossible-project.com/

The new film is about three times the price of the old film--about $24 for an 8 shot pack (versus $10 for a 10 shot pack). But the photos look very pretty. Below are some Spectra images; I'll post some 600 type images too.

The 600 film apparently has the same emulsion as the Spectra film, but it looks a little different to me. Also, unlike the original Polaroid films, the new film is very sensitive to light right after it's been shot.

In the images below the first shot in each set of two accidentally had some exposure to light right after popping out of the camera (even though I put a black plastic bag over where the film exits for the print to drop into). In the second shots the print dropped cleanly into the bag and didn't get hit by sunlight--the difference is obvious. The film is apparently very sensitive to ambient temperature tooo, but I haven't experimented with that yet.

Polaroid has risen from the dead, and the Impossible Project (see the link above) is making film for Polaroid cameras again. They're selling cameras too. Unfortunately, they haven't got around to resurrecting the Type 665 film, which yielded a b&w print AND a negative that could be used to make more prints the conventional way, in a darkroom.

Fuji make instant cameras and film too.

I have some color images but haven't scanned them yet... will do so in a day or two.

It creates a print? How does it do that? How can the print pop out of an iPhone?

Great shots! I'm impressed. So I run down to my local camera store, buy $250. worth of film and have spent the last 45 minutes trying to find where to insert it in my Nikon D3x. Any suggestions?

.

Here are some color shots. The color instant film is difficult to get good results with, and it needs to be overexposed--the b&w film is much easier to work with. The last print doesn't look so good scanned, but it kind of shimmers in the light when you're holding it in your hand . . . .
