I can't believe this shit. I bought a mac book air. I'm a PC guy. YEARS. Education. Microsoft.

Lion. Steve Jobs. Am I gay now?

I'm confused.

It was so sexy, it seduced me. I'll be spending more time at coffee shops working. I got tired being home all the time. It will be a nice change. So far it looks super simple.

blogging in the dark in bed with a back lit keyboard.

The trick is being able to access all my resources and windows boxes on the go.

Have you used Mars Edit ? If so have you ever bothered to customize its inbuilt preset codes ? WIndows Live Writer is a piece of shit compared to Mars Edit.

If ever there was a single piece of software Windows ever got right it is Live Writer. Even the most hardcore fanbois will admit, I own a Macbook pro btw.

If you are a blogger, specially in this industry, half your job is manipulating images. Mars Edit lacks basic functionalities like editing an image once it is inserted into a post (short of editing the HTML, or deleting and reinserting the image) no watermarking either.... or effects...

And some basic functionalities like setting other attributes for hyperlinks can only be done by editing html...

Use Mars Edit for posting to hundred of splogs, but for serious blogger it is no more than a half suitable alternative to Windows Live Writer.

Man, I spent time working on it until I couldn't keep my eyes straight last night. I got most of what I need on it loaded up. There's some stuff like the adobe suite I won't purchase for it just yet.

No I don't need a mac to work at a coffee shop, but it's less than an 1" thick and supper light weight packed with power a full scale laptop has, plus an SSD drive, makes it a decent machine to do work with.

The operating system is solid and the finger motions I can do on the touch pad to move around on the multiple desktops is priceless. So far I'm loving it.

And no, this is not going to replace my PC. I'm on Windows 7 right now and this is my primary workstation I work on everyday.

My "Queen of the Garage Sales" found a kickass leather portfolio awhile back. 2 week ago, I got a Mac Air 11." People go beautiful portfolio, then when I pull out the Air, are blown away. Got Max RAM & harddrive. Just plug it into cheap Gateway monitor. Granted, there are still programs that only Windows run. But I have run Parallels ever since my 1st MacBook Pro over 7 years ago. I am down to 6 Windows programs, one of which was a OS X program, they just haven't written a Lion version.
When upgrade time comes or just adding new programs, you'll see the time & effort you save. I walked into a coffee shop and had instant access to wifi. The girl at the next table had a Windows laptop and was crying as she couldn't get wifi.
Hate to say it, but a Windows computer is like a horse & buggy. You can deny those horseless carriages will ever amount to anything, but your denial is crap.
Not a noobie. I've been around since DOS. Even taught some high dollar programer that using the F2 key would allow you to change a file name rather than typing a log string of gibberish to update the junk software his company was trying to sell us.

LOL, that's what I get a kick out of as well. To me a computer is just a tool to do a task. If you prefer one over the other, more power to you. I simply don't care. I'm sure a Mac can do everything I need it to just fine, and maybe even better, but as of now I have no reason to test it out. Maybe someday.
