:mad hawkhost problems

Hey all. just want to ask who uses Hawkhost shared hosting.

Already using them more then a year. I have 40 wp blogs and nothing special. Got advanced plan and monthly I burn 70-80 gb.

So lately I noticed that my blogs opens so damn slow. So opened ticket that they fix that one. and as always receive that you need to upgrade to vps because bla bla bla the answer:

We have implemented CloudLinux on all servers which restricts the CPU usage for users thereby preventing them maxing out the entire server CPU and causing load issues. So the slowness is just because you are maxing out your alloted CPU ie your php pool is being maxed out and slow requests. So I would recommend you to either optimize your websites, remove unwanted plugins or move to a VPS to fix the issue. Since there is nothing in the server that causes the slow loading of your website rebooting the server will not fix the issue. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

anyone noticed that too who uses shared service of Hawkhost?

All year it was ok and suddenly my blogs burns too much cpu. what kind of shit is that. no big spike in traffic nothing serious. Dont much traffic is sent over there. Max 500 uv to few of my blogs.

thanks for sharing...

Why not take their advice? Sounds like they finally hard-capped CPU usage. Prior to them using cloudlinux, they had no way to slow you down. Their only options were to force you into an upgrade to a VPS or dedicated, just accept the fact that you're a high-usage customer or simply terminate your account.

Now they can prevent you from degrading service to all other customers on the same server. That's the ideal solution for them. If you want to burn more CPU than what your plan allows, you need to upgrade or take their advice on how to optimize your sites.

Honestly if you'd implement some caching your usage would drop significantly. Wordpress is a pig so you really need to use a caching plugin if you're seeing even moderate traffic.

I use them, have 3 shared accounts with them, 1 Advanced and 2 basic. I have about 40 Wordpress installations on the Advanced which burns through about 100gb/monthly and when I noticed the cpu usage spiking I started using cache plugins which helped a lot. Since I'm not ready to move to VPS or dedicated I opened up 2 basic shared accounts and have spread any new wordpress installations over those accounts.

Honestly if you have 40 wp installations you're definitely ready for a VPS unless you don't have any traffic.

I meant as in I'm not ready money wise. I'm spending money just building my network up and I have a goal set in mine for how much I want to make monthly from adult before I move over my hosting to VPS or dedicated. Right now I pay just $10 monthly and $20 semi-annually for my other 2 shared accounts which leaves me plenty of money to buy more domains, etc.

well I dont have much traffic on this host. if I get blog jumped in traffic I transfer it to VPS. but they should worn that they will install such programs like CloudLinux and now my serp's got hit because of that...
And they should worn users that they will install some kind of crapy soft and we should optimize our programs we use. but not just with no word turn it on and sit silently that nothing happens.
The plan says that you can use more then 120 GB BW so I do that...

You know, I won't use natnet just because you're always spamming them. I know it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of their service but your incessant sig dropping has given me a negative impression of them. I wish they'd correct the issue.
