    Got iPad 1 or iPad 2? buying gift for gf .. quick advice question

    I don't think she'll even notice the diff. I mean she doesn't use either yet but I realize the display is better and some features were improved.. so I was thinking of just buying her an ipad 1. She bitched enough for switching her to iphone 4 when I was upgrading. So wtf.

    just gonna get the wi-fi model..besides minor file/doc writing, its for web/email use mostly for her anyways.

    Maybe answered my own question, but for public thought, what'dya guys think?

          Get the ipad 2 ... it feels much better in your hands and has a (crappy) camera that works fine for video-calls with skype (I personally use it a lot)

                                  The biggest differences were the camera and the newer one is slimmer/sleeker ... the older one would still do most of the same things as the newer one but you run the risk of looking cheap even if it turns out to be the smarter/more appropriate choice. Too bad you missed out on the $100 discontinued tablet.

                                      The HP Touchpad completely out performs the Ipad 2.

                                      HP is going to be producing another short run of production here soon, and for $100 and a better product, I suggest you jump on it.

                                      My girl has the Ipad 2, I have the Touchpad.. Honestly the Touchpad outperforms, see YouTube videos by the gnomelocker guy for side by side comparison.

                                              my problem is I'm not a cheap skate with electronics.. so in this case its been a no-brainer.

                                              Was curious to see what people would say.

                                              The HP sounds good too but does it have an app store and iTunes and all the things a girl finally familiar with an iPhone would want? I think I have my answer.

                                                  I have the acer, it's only around $400. and is much better, easy to load files, no need for itunes or any useless apple software! get her something she can actaully use... forget about anything made from apple.

                                                      I have the HP Touchpad (just got it when they went to $99). My girlfriend has the Ipad 1. She likes my touchpad better. However, a friend of hers got the Ipad 2 recently and to put it in my girlfriends words: "The Ipad 2 made me moist."

                                                      To me that is a pretty good endorsement. So if it were me and it wasn't about the extra cash and you were set on an IPad I would go with the Ipad 2.

                                                          Yes,

                                                          HP has an app store like iTunes with angry birds and all that bullshit.

                                                          It also has FLASH, which is a huge development.
