          i dont mind customizing a theme but i'd like ideas one one to use as a base.

                          Fully custom, but if you're looking for a nice "base" theme, I'd probably recommend Thesis. Pretty powerful and I used to use it before I started doing themes from scratch.

                          Also, check out ThemeForest. Good stuff on there.
