I usually go PC for first person, because I like the fine control with mouse and keyboard...and games with fantastic graphics like Crysis, or the upcoming Battlefield 3 need the PC hardware to make it look as sweet as possible.
For third person, or any other type of game, PS3 wins easily. I'll use any excuse to get a ps3 version of a game these days. I spend all day working on a computer -- the last thing I want to do is spend more hours in front of the monitor playing a game.
I also look for games I can get in and out of quickly. I wanted to play Dues Ex, but I heard you can easily spend 30 hours in that world -- and I'm really OCd with RPG games. I like to do EVERYTHING in the game world. I put 100 hours in Fallout 3, and got no fucking work done.

You must try the new Deus Ex! One of the best RPG/FPS game I have played in a long time, I didn't have much hope of it being as good as the original but I gave it a shot after seeing the good reviews it was receiving and I've been addicted to it ever since.
Oh shit! Thank you for fucking up my productivity streak...
