Good for Best Buy. Fuck the idiots.

Sorry, you always need to be stocked up on water. That's just common sense. Enough water and food to live at least 72 hours.

I live through the San Fran earthquake in 1889 and went three days without power. No power means no food. Everything in your fridge spoils, and no power means you can't run out to get fast food or go shopping. This past week my entire home town was evacuated because a train carrying propane caught fire and even though I was just outside of the evacuation zone, I learned a few lessons - such as we need to keep bags full of clothes and a other items so we can leave the house quickly.

I was just reading the news and there was an article about a bunch of people stuck at the Port Authority in NYC hoping to catch a bus to Boston. Seems it never occurred to them that buses, subways, trans, and planes would be shut down during a fucking hurricane.

Just saw an update on The Chive site. They say : The manager of the Best Buy has responded and said, “… Sunday August 28th 2011, we will (be) price matching any local supermarket’s price for cases of water if they are needed for one day only as a gesture of good will.”

I guess it wasn't fake after all and that is a cool gesture by the store.
