We get a hurricane every once in a while.
I remember Floyd. My cousin was having a birthday party and it was crazy outside. Was too young to remember Bob. Don't really remember Isabel either.
That said, NY gets hit about once every five years by a hurricane of some sort. This might be the worst in a long time, though. And it looks like it'll be a direct hit, which is pretty rare.Giggles.com has a huge selection of sex toys. Need backlinks? Ask to guest post on our adult blog.Comment

Oh, I also wanted to add that ice storms usually kill power longer than most hurricanes will. It's not unusual for us to loser power for a 1-3 weeks after getting 2-3 inches of ice with any sort of wind. Happens once every two to three years (major outages.)
New York City doesn't have this issue. Their power grid is more stable than it is where I am (about 50 miles upstate.)Giggles.com has a huge selection of sex toys. Need backlinks? Ask to guest post on our adult blog.Comment

Isabel, Gloria and Floyd were about the worst I recall. Lots of downed trees and rain.
These days most major supermarkets have generators of their own and the 'warning' hype has been so ridiculously overplayed for days that every possible response entity is already buzzing around on their highest possible alert.
My bet is we all live through it and 10 years from now a thread about the new storm will include mention of Irene along with the others... nothing more.

They are shutting down all mass transit starting noon tomorrow. I know that includes city buses, subways etc... I'd presume it includes flights as well.Comment
