Just upgraded from hurricane watch to hurricane warning. In the area I live in, we're gonna be fucked with no power. I know it, the ground is already soaked and we rely on these old ass flimsy overhead powerlines. Them shits is gonna be gone.

According to this article, 13 million gallons of water need to be pumped out of the NYC subway system daily, even with no rain involved. The head of hydraulics for the NYC MTA has already said the pump system, which relies on some pumps that are 100 years old, will not be able to keep that much water out of the subways.
