Best FoodSaver/vacuum sealer?

Looking for a food vacuum sealer. What's the best one? What will it run? And what is the best way to get replacement plastic/bags?

Whatever one you pick, buy two. You know where to send the extra. (:

Run about $150-200.

I use this one from Costco http://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-Adva...p_ob_k_title_2.

I believe that they go on sale from time to time, a supply of replacement bags (8 Rolls) is about $40. But they last quite some time. I freeze Soup, Chilli, Meat, Fruit, Baby food, you name it. It really is the one kitchen gadget that you wouldn't think gets used.. but does quite a bit.

Don't be such a pussy. If you open it, eat it all. Only underachievers have leftovers.

I kid. We still use one that my wife bought from an infomercial many years ago. We just gets the cheap rolls from Walmart or Amazon but they last forever so I have no idea what they cost.

We packaged a bunch of deer meat one year (totally gross) with what I am sure was a cheap one... worked just fine.

You can even use a vacuum sealer to sous vide meats and stuff. It's a funky way to cook fish and meats. It may look raw, but it's cooked through!

I am definitely interested in the cooking aspects, but my primary concern is storage. Freezing meat primarily.

Don't buy any of those foodsaver brands or any from department stores. They always break and start losing thier seals. Here's what you need http://www.vackpak.com/Pro21002300vacuumnew.html best prices on bags and rolls are on ebay.
