I often find myself somewhere with nothing to entertain myself but my iphone, and at the same time have an overwhelming desire to read/learn about new things, places, people, etc. I find myself browsing webmaster forums but quickly get bored or discouraged with the constant drama. I want to keep motivated and inspired in life... I dont have any hobbies per say but I like to learn about everything and keep growing and engaging life

What do you guys do to feed your mind?

just think about some stuff that you find interesting, google it for more info, you can always learn new shit, I do it all the time...sometimes I spend more time on this shit than on actual work...

I'm like this too digitalfantasies, constantly researching stuff, I used to think that everyone was, but with time I've learned that most are not interested, they're content in front of their TV's

I don't watch television... except for EPL or CL soccer! It's really annoying and boring now in social situations when people start talking about True Blood or Glee, etc., as I have nothing to say.

I thought it was just me. Wikipedia will keep you reading with cross references. When a was in grade school I read the 13,000 page World Book Encyclopedia straight through but I don't think I'll ever finish wikipedia. I'm thinking I should stop trying to finish reading wikipedia while driving, though.

I spend too much time with politics on news sites and gfy. When the politics or debates lure me in I try to check the facts, read the bill, etc. That way I'm learning something instead OnLY arguing. Sometimes I switch sides after checking the facts.

I signed up for an online class from Stanford. I'm going to find some ebooks too.

For me,

it's always going to be documentaries and quality films. Any television that I can find enrichment in, but it does have to pass the test.. I try not to watch any mindless entertainment, but every now and then there is a guilty pleasure or two for sheer decompression.

I read a lot of magazines. Yes, really for the articles!

Discovering new music really keeps my brain alive too. Which is great, since I can never get enough of it.

I have been getting back into my first love of writing too.

I also, 'force' myself to take classes in subjects I have some sort of interest in at least once a year. I don't ever want to stop learning.
