Just a week after he launched his presidential campaign, the Texas governor has come under fire for his investment in Movie Gallery, a company that rented pornographic movies.
Movie Gallery, Inc. (former NASDAQ ticker symbol MOVI[1]) was the second largest movie and game rental company in the United States, behind Blockbuster Video.
This reminds me of the last election when an anti-porn group tried to get Romney to ban all porn movies from being sold in Marriott hotels. Romney is a huge investor and sits on the board of Marriott. In 2008 a group pressured him to have the company remove the pay per view porn in the rooms. Of course he didn't because they were making bank off of it.
However, a few weeks ago Romney stepped down from the board and now the Marriott has said it is phasing out the porn pay per view. Some speculate that this is to help Romney in his election bid.
