Barnes and Nobel screwed me on my order too. They took it and sent me a confirmation, then just sent me and email 15 hrs later saying that due to demand my order will not be filled. WTF is that?

I got very lucky. I read a post on Woot that said someone bought one of these at a Radio Shack. So I stopped in at the Radio Shack in my town expecting there to be nothing and they had one 16gb touchpad left for $99. So I did get one. Haven't played with it much. I need to install a wireless network in my house first.
If you have a Radio Shack near you give them a call they might have one. |

over here it was only directly on the HP website available - which broke down yesterday (good sign for a company that wants to concentrate on server technology)
when i finally got through there were no "buy now" buttons anymore which probably means that they are sold out |

I finally got one today.. and not from my zones.com order (which will be canceled). Picked up a 32gb today from my local BEST BUY store. I called them yesterday and they told me they were getting a shipment in that night and would be putting it for sale the next morning. Sure enough, when I got there.. there was already a line of nutters waiting at the door, so I sat and waited with them for 20 minutes and then got it :thumbsup Thanks to CandyFlip, because I probably wouldn't have gotten one without his posts to motivate me, I was going to pass. But $150 for 32gb is just too cheap to pass up. |
What do you think of it so far? I just finished watching someone on mine via Hulu Plus.

Man I wish I could have gotten one :( every place was timing out. I want one so I can sit down more during the day and still be able to do stuff online. If anyone wants to hook a brother up just let me know

Bust Buy is sending them all back to the stores. Some of the stores have already started receiving them and have also already sold out of them. Some stores have yet to get them, so there is still a chance that a store near you still hasn't gotten their shipment yet.

Got mine hooked up and rolling, typing on it right now.
I must say this thing is pretty damn neat, and is definitely worth $150 for a 32gb. I would never pay $500-600 for one of these or an ipad, although I did pay $300 for an ipod touch. But that little bastard was worth it in terms of portability/iphone replacement. It definitely is unique to a laptop a and I always thought why buy an ipad when you can buy a laptop but it is definitely different. Perfect for laying in bed. |

Hulu Plus works on it quite nicely, so that's a big plus...until the decide to block the user agent. :1orglaugh Go in to the settings and do the Software Update. It fixes a few things, speeds a few others up and makes the keyboard even better than it already is. |
Picked up 2 32 gigs tonight at Best Buy... They said they got 50 of each in and would be getting more They only allowed 1 per customer but saw someone I knew who "bought" the 2nd one.

Picked up 7 myself been playing with one and its nice, can see myself using it quite abit for business and personal.
People went pretty crazy for them over here and sold out within the hour, 400 person lines in the city stores etc..people are playing a massive premium for them on ebay. Might keep some of them for when android works. |
