    Obama about to be victorious in Libya, Republicans about to choke

    Rebels now have Tripoli surrounded and Gadhafi is said to be planning his exit before he gets killed.

    Obama knows how to properly utilize our military. Drop some bombs, arm some rebels and BAM, the guy you want gone is gone. No quagmires here!

    Republicans are going to be in a tizzy over this one since they can't claim an ounce of credit for any of it. This is all on Hillary and our Obamessiah!

                  Well of course that's not how the Republicans want things done.. They want all the military involved on the ground so that all their military contract buddies can make a shit load of money as well... Bomb libya over civilian massacres, but not syria. Invade afganistan over al qaeda, but not pakistan. Its actually rather pathetic IMO.

                                                                                                                                              You shallow conservatives need to look beyond the surface rather than processing wars from only the military operations perspective. There is a reason why Libya isn't erupting into chaos like Iraq did, and it has everything to do with not deploying a "shock and awe" strategy.

                                                                                                                                              By keeping ground forces out and instead helping to build rebel forces, it strengthened a movement in Libya that citizens at least understood. This was their own people fighting their own government. It has had a calming effect on the masses. Whereas we look back at Iraq and see that while we were flexing our military might, every citizen of Iraq was just a bystander to the war with no idea what was going on and they panicked. The result is that we are still there babysitting and will still be there in 10 years.

This offensive was led by France, hence the French can claim victory if it actually happens.

                                                                                                                                                                                          If the regime does change, then we need to wait and see what happens there...my guess is it that the new government will not be a friend of the United States.

It was a combination of many factors, and it has been very rocky for quite sometime. The last month or so there seems to have been some great victories by the rebels. And that's just it... without the rebels there would be nothing, without NATO there would be nothing, without France there would be nothing, without Italy there would be nothing, without the United States there would be nothing, and so on.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      It seems as if the rebels have been more organized as of late and have had a specific focus of taking one city at a time to surround the base. I'm sure that they have plenty of Libyan army defectors guiding them, but it also makes you wonder who else might be in there helping with strategy.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Where this pro-Gaddafi populace is hiding has yet to be seen. When the rebels were chipping away, city by city, where were these loyalists? Libya is crippled. Rebels have won.
