Going for 10 hours of tattoo work tomorrow, opinions?

My left leg is sleeved, working on my right leg now. Here's the artwork I just approved for my lower right leg. My suit is all Japanese styled:



I've asked the artist to even up the cheeks and make the chin a little less butt/ball like, hahaha.

I'll by flying out to Japan early next year to have my chest done in munewari style by Shige; my back is done by Ami James from Miami Ink (now Love Hate Tattoo).

Pretty excited to get so much work done in one sitting, aside from the whole pain aspect; 10 hours is a good amount of time to get inked :P

Last session, Ami was kind enough to let me do two 8 hour days back to back. I'm not gonna lie, the second day was brutal. Thankfully there was some hash involved; definitely took the edge off but in a way, made me more sensitive... seemed like the trade off was worth it though

I do actually but I like tattoos on women to have much more negative space to give them a lighter feel; I think it's more feminine that way.

Having sat through a near 9 hour session myself recently... my best advice is to make absolutely sure your seating is comfortable. 10 hours is a long ass time, and the less breaks you have to take to stand up and shake the numbness from your ass cheeks the better.

And for some, these tats have a meaning. Some, not all. For instance, I've got my daughters feet tattooed on my outer right calf. I'm not going to ever regret that. Now I just want more with other memories reminding me of my father who passed away years ago and my family.

Lived in Japan for a couple years. Might end up moving back for some longer stints. Mainly though I really like the art style especially with tattoos. I'm not a big fan of piecemeal type tattoos and I want everything to work together to tell a story so it was a straightforward choice for me on what style the suit would be. I'm leaving my arms, hands, and collar up with no tattoos though. I still have to play the mainstream business, VC, angel, etc... game so it's better not to have anything showing in business attire.

Long time no see! I am not; I was actually offered a better gig for a company out of NY. More equity, better salary, faster vestment period, and I can work remote so... change of plans, hahhaha. Definitely plan on getting out there soon to visit some peoples though, we should meet up!

I have done a few 8 hour sessions... It's not a bad feeling on your arms... I'm too chickenshit to get my legs or back done and probably never will have them done.

Most of the girls I've dated in the last 2 years have full back pieces ... they're tougher than I am for sure.

At the end of the day my body stopped taking in and would spit it back out. had to take the next day off. then a day on, then a day off. about 20+ hours in a week. Damn! When I did two 8 hour days back to back with Ami my body didn't stop taking ink, thankfully! Actually my back was completely healed in 96 hours... Pretty amazing I wonder if there's a difference in ink or something. My left leg on the other hand... I couldn't walk on it for a week... I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time. I'm heading down to FL for a couple weeks on Sunday though so I'm flying a good friend of mine up tomorrow night to drive me down in my car, hhaha.
