I registered mccarthy.net in 1996....then the company changed hands and informed me that it was now their domain, and I was leasing it. So techincally I don't own it.
My first domain is 2001 and I still have it, I made galleries and selling amateur pages per click program. I made about 4-5k per month and can buy lots of gold :D
Now for the same ammount of gold We must make 40-50k per month :D
Time is changed :D
I was working at an ISP back in those days and the only way to register domains was through Network Solutions. I can remember checking domains for kicks and seeing beer.com as unregistered.
I switched registrars for webmastersguide.com in 1998. I don't know how long I had it before that. I think 1996.

Didn't really start investing in domains until 2002/2003. 1999 is the oldest one still in my hands as I buy and sell so the inventory rotates over the years. Got a handful of adult but 99% are mainstream domains.
