    iPhone 5 #winning

[T]he numbers show that less than half of Android users surveyed (47%) say they plan to buy another Android phone. That means user dissatisfaction with the platform is so high that the majority of people currently using an Androidhave already given up the on the platform. Aside from the kind of tech geeks who desire an overly complicated Linux-based phone, ...

Anyone know if iPhone 5 will do HTML5?

We just redid our mobile cam platform with flash for the android. The JS for iPnone is clunky and slow ...

This is the problem with developing for a fast evolving platform with marginal profit ratios ...

It's a growing issue. Their "open source" approach means ANYONE can put an APP out there with absolutely no restrictions or quality control measures whatsoever.

Don't get me wrong, the iPad was revolutionary and the iPhone changed the world. But the rest of the world was quick to catch up.

I just bought my second android phone, the android X. It does everything an iPhone does. All of the smart phones are the same - touch screens, apps, email, facebook, messaging, phone calls, contacts...

I really like the iPhones. My iPhone 4 works perfectly, never drops a call (I'm on Telus), and the battery seems to last forever. I don't know anything about the iPhone 5's yet. I won't upgrade right away but might in a year or so if they're worth it.

If you go shopping for an iPhone, I would suggest that you buy it from Apple and then activate it at the courier of your choice. You will learn a lot more about the iPhone and they will recommend how to use it to simplify your life with the right software, etc. You can then activate your phone at your service provider of choice. If you buy your phone from a service provider, you have to pay financing fees + interest + be locked into a long term contract. Why buy financing if you don't need to?

It will open in Flash with Firefox ...

Interesting to see the "loyalties" between the various platforms. There is a significant difference between the loyalties in the European and USA/Canada as well as the world markets.

Really, mobile would be a good place for HTML5 video ? it would give us a much broader based market with a quality feed. Cam sites are not cheap per minute for private sessions and must deliver a high-quality product to get the prices ...

On paper, the new Android phones do everything an iPhone does and more. Apple has perfected their design though. Everything on the iPhone is more fluid, selecting text, cut and pasting, Safari, the available apps, updates, etc.

It also has the highest resolution and DPI by a huge margin, the slimmest design and the most battery life.

Android phones are great, but iPhones are better.

                      yep its scary shit
                      from your link
"Android doesn't have those protections. First of all, the Android Market doesn't subject apps to the scrutiny that Apple does, and that has caused more than one app in the Market to be a source of infection. Just two months ago Google removed 26 malicious apps.

Secondly, even if Google tightened its application approval process, you aren't forced to use the Android Market exclusively. If you want an app on your iPhone, you are locked into the App Store. (This ignores those that jailbreak their devices. I ignore that group of people when it comes to security because they are deliberately bypassing built-in security features, so they're on your own there.) With Android, you can choose from a variety of markets, none of which are approved by Google, so who knows what you risk when downloading from those?"

I agree with Rochard. The iPhone did revolutionize the market but everyone else has been quick to catch up. The iPhone hasn't really added a lot of new features it's grown rather stagnant in terms of functionality. They're JUST now adding custom ring tones for text messages... there's no Swype... there's no speech to text... it's not nearly as customize-able as it should be...

That being said I currently carry the iPhone 4 and there's one thing that it does far better than any other phone and that's UI animation... Every other phone (specifically droids) suffer from very poor transition animations; it's choppy. Probably not noticeable to everyone but the iOS animations are VERY smooth and the retina display is very nice.

I'm still up in the air as to my next phone though...
