The stupid thing is that people trusted mybitcoin.com with their bitcoins instead of having them on their own computer.

if the trading gateways continually fold, get hacked, disappear the currency is all but dead.

you guys will never get that because you are not just using a currency you are part of an online cult. :2 cents:

Really wonder why there is so much hatred towards the bitcoin idea. Is it because you guys don't understand how it works? Whats wrong with another method of getting sales? Whats wrong with no chargebacks? The way bit-pay is set up, you dont even need to ever touch a bitcoin.

Looks like some people in adult are using bitcoins to their advantage. :)

expand your mind idiot. just because you don't like a doesn't mean you like b. maybe i prefer c?

i hope to see more bitcoin like currencies in the future but bitcoin has some serious flaws that will cause it to fail. use some critical out of the box thinking that you guys always say that separates you from the "sheeple."

Obviously you're one of the people who don't understand how it works, since you think mybitcoin was an exchange. (yawn)

Serge Litehead 08-07-2011 10:40 AM

there is no flaws with bitcoin like many like to think, otherwise it would not lift of the ground at all.
people, services, exchanges - imperfect; does not mean cannot be improved upon.

Barry-xlovecam 08-07-2011 10:46 AM

Bitcoins, Bitcoins Exchanges are an unregulated "currency" market.

It's like I set up Barry's Stock Exchange. You want to list your company's stock — pay my fee and I will do it ...

(That is a felony by the way — selling unregistered securities.)

I dont blindly follow anything, bitcoin is solid. Its the 3rd party things that are having the problems.

If you haven't researched how something operates you should think twice before calling someone else an idiot or you'll just end up shooting yourself in the foot like rawdog does in that video I posted above.

http://blogs.forbes.com/timothylee/2...bitcoin-crash/

In contrast, there?s no significant community of people who conduct commerce exclusively (or even primarily) in Bitcions. And you can?t eat, live in, or make jewelry out of Bitcions. And this means there?s no logical stopping point to Bitcoin?s price decline. So far Bitcoin enthusiasts have been buying Bitcoins as the price falls, convinced that the price will go back up eventually. But as the hoped-for rally has failed to materialize, more have gotten discouraged or bored and cash out, pushing the price down further. This process has been going on for a couple of months, and now it appears to be accelerating. I suspect it?s terminal.

The price of bitcoins doesn't matter really for it to be a currency, the only thing that matters is that its stable which will happen in time.

Why is that funny, I've already done about 20 successful transactions at coffee shops both buying and selling.

EDIT: I'm not gonna keep posting, dont wanna sound like I'm trying to pump and dump. I just think its a great idea if the people doing services can get their security in order.
