If someone else would tell me it happened to them, I would say: I don't believe that! Everything described below was happened in Ukraine, Zaporozhye to my close friend and her family.
She called in Sunday. She was crying and, it was hard to understand what she is trying to tell me. Her parents are living in a small village in about 60 miles from my city. Two kids (3 and 4 years old) were playing in a hayloft like every day and got a box of matches some way. Over-dried hay burst in flames in just seconds. 3 years old girl died in flames, and 4 years old boy got 40% of skin burnt.
The village is very small, and when I reached it, the boy was already picked by an ambulance. I had to take burnt girl's body myself to the morgue. Usually, an ambulance does that, but there is only one ambulance for about 10 villages and it was busy with our boy.
There is only one morgue and its in 30 miles from that place where the tragedy happened. And the morgue was closed for weekend. I have called morgue worker and she said fuck off, I have a day off today. Take the key and put the body to the fridge yourself (!!!). The only one key for the morgue is being kept in police station nearby.
I came to police station and explained the situation. I took the key and got a tire popped with reinforcing steel sticking out of a border stone. Fortunately, I had a spare wheel and set of tools.
We came to the morgue and I have opened it with the key. And found that electric light is not working. It was working in just one room. The fridge was in another room. I have found it at random. It had a solid wooden door that was locked with a simple bar.
I turned the light on (the only light that was working in that cursed place) and found that the fridge is full of dead bodies. Actually there were 4 bodies - 3 on gurneys and one dumped by the wall. That place was stinking like crazy. The thermometer on the wall showed about 60F that is definitely not enough to prevent bodies from being rotten.
And there was no room for another gurney. I have tried to reorder 3 other gurneys, but there was no room for another one. So I took dead girl's body and put it on the table by the wall (I had to overstep a body on the floor).
A way out of the morgue took about 30 seconds. I was shaking all over. We took the key back to police station. After that, we went to the hospital where our boy was held.
An ambulance took him to the city (Zaporozhye) because that country hospital is too bad and they didn't even know what to do. I came back home about 3am.
Yesterday, the girl (name Kira) was buried. I couldn't keep emotions inside myself and cried.
The boy (name David) is currently being kept in a intensive care in Zaporozhye (map).

Since weekend, I didn't sleep for more than 4 hours a day. We are fighting for David's life. I am very surprised how many people that are not indifferent.
