dang, 10/10. i must see now! the original for me, whew, mind-blown.
the statue of liberty scene was awesome for a kid my age and more importantly, the film had that uber super hottie nova. it would be cool if this new film ends with a statue beach scene
Can anyone explain where all those damn apes are coming from in San Francisco? How many could there possibly be in the zoo? It's raining fucking apes all of a sudden.
Shit man, me either - I bet they are costly. You'll need a killer projector, a big ass screen and a fucking radio station. Oh and a big ass lawn for people to park on.

this is not a re imagining of that film
tim burton did that fuck job years ago
this is technically a re imagining of the movie conquest for the planet of the apes.
It's not really about apes taking over the planet, it's a much smaller story -- and at end you can infer how earth becomes a planet filled with intelligent apes.
The acting behind the lead CGI chimp is amazing. I can't remember the last time I was so emotionally attached to a character. There was some really heartbreaking shit in that movie -- bring a Kleenex bitches.
wtf are you yapping about...... i never said anything of the sort.
I don't really think it's a re-imagining, it's more of another take on it like in a series, in a way. They've made, what, 3 so far, this being the 3rd? I haven't seen it yet but I'm guessing it's more or less the rise, hence the title, like how it all started.

That's exactly it. There's no "chimpocalypse" in the movie -- so the scale is small. But that's OK, its a really great story.

twas the same dude and the same technique used to create gollum in lord of the rings.
that dude deserves an oscar for his performance in this film.
james franco however, deserves a beating.
for real, he is the ONLY bad thing about this movie.
if ya gotta take a leak or buy popcorn or whatever, do it during one of his monologues.

Thanks for the pointers... never been a big fan of Franco but I think this movie still deserved to be seen in the theater
