What kind of 90s model vehicle has the best stock speakers?
A friend of mine owns a salvage yard with about 1000 cars... he is letting me pull some 6x9s to use in my car.. I know I don't want any out of Cadillacs and I thought Pontiacs usually have pretty good speakers...
Think about how much technology has changed in 20 years and how the price of this technology has come down. You are really better off going to Crutchfields or Best Buy. Though you could probably snag a great cassette player while you are there.
By the way, you and your friend could make a small fortune parting out those cars and selling online. My dad is a mechanic and he buys parts like that all the time, for good money, and it's basically "free" to the junkyard. The only problem is someone needs to do the labor, that's where you step in since you are obviously broke.
After you strip the vehicles of parts, the frames are worth a fair little chunk as well.

Intrepid and concordes used the infinity 6x9 speakers in their LX models. They actually pound quite hard when pushed with a proper amp/deck.

You're kidding, right?
Stock stereo components in all cars are shit no matter how much extra people pay for them. The amps are shit quality which mean they cause clipping which slowly ruin the drivers of the speakers. They were probably played too loud and damaged by heat, cold, moisture, etc. They are not worth anything.
You would be much better off treating yourself to some brand new speakers.

I tell him the same thing.. I even offer to pay cash upfront for the parts so I could resell them
He likes to have his guys strip everything to hell and sell it
Like a couple of people have said.. I think some Pontiacs had really good speakers in them... The reason I am pulling some that I can have for free is that I can't be spending extra money on something I don't need, right now
...If you must, then I think Mercedes had Bose doing their speakers then. And those are the best imho
You can get them out of a-lot of the nineties Cadillacs, too, I just don't know if they'll work with a regular deck.. They have all of these fancy amplifiers and digital this or different that..

That is true.. you can wreck speakers quicker by under powering them than by over powering them.... clipping sucks!!
I don't need some super hifi setup - just a normal 45x4 deck with a good power supply in it and a couple of decent 6x9s and I'm good
