Do you use Gmail and have an inbox with 1000's of messages and hundreds of them new?

You can view only new messages by typing:

is:unread

in the search mail box. Then you can weed out the old stuff and focus on what needs your attention.

heres a real tip to save this thread

looking for only emails with attachments?

has:attachment

or only looking for files with .* extension?

filename: (jpg OR jpeg OR png)

my current mailbox has ~200 emails total but when i search this way it comes up with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of unread emails!

That just means you have a ton unread throughout the system; labels, etc.

That's easy to empty. Just go in, select all and delete in one fell swoop.

Be careful though, I do have a lot of legit mail go to my spam folder. It used to not be that way with gmail.

heck i'm only at 4% as it stands eh, i run 5 email accounts through my gmail account, i love it. and i don't have to fiddle fart around with an email client. google docs. the cloud. haven't been able to configure my printer on google cloud though.

what would be super nice is to have it setup to have the default reply from email be the one the original email was sent to... it defaults to the gmail addy.
