Is it true that Obama said his favorite character was Omar.

I found this strange as I would have bet on the Bunk.

The Bunk, Freeman, D'Angelo or Wallace being the best moral characters in the film.

The prize for the most morally corrupt person is too difficult, but of course it wouldn't be a drug dealer, and that for me was the beauty of the show.

Omar is a badass.

for those of you who've seen the whole thing,
did you feel like they might have been trying to set up for a 6th season there toward the end, but couldnt get shit worked out with the network or whatnot?
i only ask because the writers hit the dope game from every angle, except one. they showed ya the corner boys, the supervisors, the muscle, the neighborhood bosses, the international smuggler kingpins, the low level smuggler dock workers, the politicians, the cops, the media, the schools, but not so much of the lawyers that keep all these fuckholes out of jail when everything goes wrong.
they had a bunch of evidence against that one jew lawyer, AND herc was working for the dude by the end of the show...
it just kinda felt like they were trying to go there.
anyone else agree?

Definitely the best TV show ever made thus far.

I thought the opposite. That the lawyers were the guilty men and that was the last word.

I actually thought they tried to stretch it out an extra season. I have no idea if that is the case or not, but all the stuff with the Baltimore Sun and the cop that became a teacher seemed like they were just kind of filler. I know some of the newspaper stuff is because David Simon used to actually be a journalist for the Baltimore Sun, but it still seemed like they could have cut some of that out and had it still be great.

I would love to see Simon just do a show about the behind the scenes of a newspaper. That could be very cool.
