I have no interest in scientology.

I do however have an interest in how they market.

They're successful, so if nothing else I can learn from their examples. :)

I dont know why you think its an 'upsell' since when is a book an upsell?
Books are often "front end" products for a whole range of related products and services.

Most information products do this.

Within the books there are upsells to more expensive products and services.

Its a book, with pages of info on the mind and the reactive mind as well as the Analytical Mind.

Its a book, read it, THEN we can discuss it.
I have no interest in discussing the book.

The subject doesn't interest me.

The marketing methods do.

Quote:

if by upsell you mean its based on certain aspects of Scientology, then yeah its got Scientology embedded in it, L Ron wrote it, but they are different things, you should read it. But you are already against Scientology, so you are set in your opinion.
Whereas you seem pro scientology, so perhaps you're biased in the other direction. :)

Quote:

I dont consider myself a Scientologist, but I know the doctrine, and that is what makes it worth learning.

To know is to be prepared.
prepared for what?

I've read a lot about scientology.

And it ain't pretty.

(Nor cheap)

How the brain work is to summerize it...
observation, Anylse follow by logic judgement(which is a proccess in itself... associations, theories, etc..)

My point earlier is your knowledge on Economics, politics... is not a sign of superior intelligence ....
You can talk about sport , music and show high degree of intelligence...

Big words?? Ehm... whatever.

And you are now claiming you know how the brain works?! It's a mystery to the whole of mankind, yet you know it? Sure...

You say intelligence can also be shown when talking about "light" subjects. However, when talking about "light" subjects common sense, not intelligence is what usually is used. Since high intelligence requires the recognition of meta-patterns, even light subjects will eventually be linked to deeper, more encompassing subjects.

PS. I wasn't talking about economics. The German expressionists in the 1920's were a cultural movement primarily invloved in literature, with writers such as Brecht and Jahn.

Most of the people can't. There are certain things which always come over as good, certain phrases even. One can quite easily learn how to sound intelligent, how to persuade people, how to impress people, etc.

If you want an example, just think of the greek sophists.

And where's Britney Spears Coaches then..?
I have never seen her said something really intelligent!?
And include dozen of other stars in it too...
They dont have someone preparing them...?

Look Punkworld... you know like me that you'll see once in a while intelligent pop singers... why the automatic hate, why the need for a conspiracy behind it...?

Anyhow.... got to go the the gym now... make myself a cut body ... since the society as told the girls that this is what they need to like.... Can you believe that... complete brainwash...!
Damn Pop industry! :feels-hot

I care not to argue Jammy.

Until you read something its hard to base an opinion.

You say you've read 'a lot about Scientology' yet you never read their books.

You read another persons opinion on something and then form your own.

I am not 'pro-scientology'

I am 'pro-tolerance' for outside beliefs and literature, and use what I can from them.

There is a difference, anyway, Ill leave you to debate Christina - its lunch time here in California bruh.

later.

Not arguing. Having a (potentially) interesting conversation.

Once again I state -- I'm not interested in the subject.

Read a lot online. As I said, it wasn't pretty.

Yes?

You can be tolerant, but it doesn't make something right.

I could be 'tolerant' of the KKK if I wanted to be. Doesn't exactly make the world a better place though.

enjoy

:)

I'll love to continue this further.

You still didn't answer my question about the upselling though. That's all I was really looking for. :(

hehe, ok, you disagree... but then contradict yourself and agree... cool...

And by the way... you seem to reduce intellignence to a very specific category... Intelligence... is something very large... regrouping many aspects... categories... some more important than others... and common sens is one of them...
Emotional intelligence is another... street smart... , etc...

Who's talking about a conspiracy? I'm talking about hypocrisy.

The facts:

1. The pop industry almost exclusively shows young, attractive people, thereby creating an atmosphere wherein people feel they aren't "normal" if they don't look like that. The signal this gives is, "It matters greatly what you look like".

2. A song that says "Everyone is beautiful" is in complete contradiction with this. The words aren't supported by the practice.

There's hypocrisy for ya.

Read again, I don't agree.

Edit: you include common sense in intelligence? Common sense is the most generally accepted view by society on a certain subject, and is determined by culture, learned through example.

mmmh... lot of people view common sens as an equivalent to Logical.... and not the opinion of the majority....

xxxinnovations 01-29-2003 02:55 PM

You've GOT to love the dirty whores... without them, the number of dick sucking females would drop drastically

I suggest you read it again.

I'm not saying "you can reach deeper *...", I'm saying "you will reach deeper * ...". If you are intelligent, that is. However, if you manage to avoid the deeper * and stick with the lighter *, that is a clear sign of something else than intelligence.

That's because most people see something as "logical" if it is something they have heard all their lives. Most people don't really understand the basic principles of logic.

Here's what I see. Christina is here for the long haul, and will evolve over time with new looks, style etc. much like Madonna did when she started out in the 80s. Christina, regardless of her sometimes slutty look, tattos, piercings and whatever else is talented. The girl has an incredible voice. She was one of the only acts I could even tolerate on the American Music Awards a few weeks ago, and she sang. No lip synching.
Britney, on the other hand, was totally manufactured because of her looks. She has no talent other than her looks and being able to follow a choreographer in her videos and on stage. She's getting older which is bad for her since her base audience is around 15. She doesn't have the talent or ability to endure a lengthy singing career.
Just my
:2 cents:
