A free and neutral internet can play a huge roll in diluting and diminishing the strangle hold that media companies have on us.
An independent site can gain as much, or more popularity, than ANY "news" show on ANY network, if it relates well to it's viewers, and is marketed properly.
The question is, how long before that scenario is cut down by corporate owned bandwidth control, or until a larger media company simply buys out the independent site?

It's painfully clear that the Republican politicians want this to drag out. They refuse to back any plan that will raise the debt ceiling beyond the election, then out of the other side of their face they claim it's the president who is playing politics.
