They both are OVER A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS.

In other words, even if future congress and presidents 10 years from now actually stick with it...it still will only be 400 billion a year for the Republican plan and 270 billion a year for Obama's plan.

And that is just about how much the govt. spends in ONE MONTH.

So just now, after four months, they announce they'll start putting together a plan? The republicans in the house have already voted on and passed two plans. A little late to start putting something together. The dems were should have passed something prior to the last election, when they controlled the house, the senate and the white house. It would have been part of the budget they failed to pass when it was due.

Since the republicans have put fourth at least three comprehensive plans and the democrats have not put forth any plan, that makes the dems the party of "no", doesn't it? Great leadership, Mr. President.
