After seeing the movie last night, I agree, it would have been a better rental and you won't really loose much. The cinema release was not the cinematography I expected for a Spielberg movie. I liked the movie as I can't think of two better genres I like but it was a bit slow at times and the story lacked any depth.
In all, it was a nice night out but just another aliens trying to take over the world for our resources thing.

There is just no possible way that a bunch of people sat in a movie studio executive conference room, discussing big budget movie projects, reviewing scripts and pitching projects for the summer release and all agreed with a straight face that this was a great idea.
Either they are just fucking with us (most likely), or the studio head has dementia and no one wanted to speak up because they were afraid they might get fired..
