I don't see what about it turns people off. Is it really that much different than any of the other names out there? Do names really "turn people off" other than the few exceptions if it was to imply something sick like scat or worst "young" people. I always looked at domain names as having the following: easy to remember, short, and be some what descriptive of the site. Seems like they did well on all 3 counts. |
its a shame. could of had potential to be something big but with a launch like this, no one will promote them

I remember when Lensman tried to get cams.com / adultlivenetwork.com going. Girls not making money from traffic leave. Customers that do not see cam girls leave! A cycle that needs lots of planning and deep pockets. |
i'm surprised anyone actually sent traffic. it's gotta be one of the stupidest things i've ever seen.

The domain is great, the execution is amusing to say the least.

I like the name too.

stupid name... as if guys only get online to masturbate... of course that is the outcome in most cam scenarios... but thinking that is your main selling point proves the stupidity of the chaturdbate team
|
I just hope I never chaturbated ...

Live cams -> recurring sales Recurring sales -> members connecting and forming relationships with models Connecting with models and forming relationships -> selling and marketing personalities - not making each user feel like a sexual deviant, or incorrectly defining the nature and purpose of their presence on the site for them :2 cents: |
cha-turd-bate: verb. 1. freezing a turd and using it as a dildo on your partners naughty bits. 2. the most irrelevant website and biggest waste of an ad spend in porn history

bump for an interesting thread and such a fail...
I don't really understand why affiliates can fall into this trap. I mean it's full of leaks and basically a way for them to get almost free traffic, even if it makes no sense to think this could have been planned that way. No, not possible. Too much investment for that |

They need to take this serious, I dont necessarily mind ads on that type of site but the popups are fuckingggggg gayyyyyyy. Get rid of the popups ugh... you might as well turn music on while you're at it.
I've been promoting them on one blog for about 24 hours and I'm running pretty much 22:1 with my best traffic. So I'm leaving it for the time being, but I'd really like to see this take off and offer something to my wallet that MFC can't. Also get rid of popups |

When you click to go into a Flirt4Free cam the first thing you see (besides the fling pop up) is a huge banner on the live cam that says "Click Here to Chat Now for free! This model is on Flirt4Free". The cute live girls are all flirt4free, your surfers are going to go to those videos first, they are on the front page, several of them and towards the top. When the surfer enters those rooms he is going to see the link to "Chat for free" and is going to click that and sign up to Flirt4Free instead of clicking the "sign up" link on the to right of the page. Which also I am noticing now there is only place on the entire site where they have a signup link, and its on the top right of the page and it just says " sign up" Why wouldn't that say " Join 100% FREE" or " FREE Sign Up" why just "Sign up" and why in just one spot on the entire site. Why wouldn't you put that everywhere so they can't miss it. Why is it drowned out so much by the ads? (rhetorical questions) After looking into this more I am now leaning to the side that this was all intention. Those flirt4free videos is 100% worst than any of the other ads, and the lack of sign up links trying to get people to signup vs signup to flirt4free which is 100x more visible, or to sign up via an add, tends to make me think this is more likely intention then oversight or lack of understanding how to run a cam site correctly. I also noticed some moron spaming in chat MFC "http://www.myfreecams.com/?baf=7525090 " what an idiot, and to even use the link with his aff code in it lol. |
Perfect post Will

how can you like the name... its too cheesy, and too far fetched trying to come up with a witty name. Those words put together, it doesnt fit well enough.

If chaturbate wanted to get rid of the model/traffic dilemma, they could spent a few bucks, hire a studio, pay their girls a flat rate for a couple months until the traffic picks up and starts returning, then they can focus on getting cam models. Relying almost solely on on affiliate traffic, especially these days, will lead toa world of problems and a shortfall of sales. |
Old idea in a new jacket
Throw some cash in the ring and keep your fingers crossed hey! Big hello to the one who put his cash in this URL Me am sure he is reading HELLO!!!! Sorry, but no deal |

To do what you suggested all they would have to do is set up an api for chaturbate. Which should be easy for them because they have an api for xprofiles, so i am sure it wouldn't be hard for them to set it up for chaturbate. You right, if you wanted to build a simple site with fake videos, important flirt4free live cams, and put up a register form (email them yourself or push the info to other site's api) and make money from ad sales... it wouldn't be hard to do at all if you don't try to make the site function where people can broadcast themselves or worry about having real girls live. Great advice Will, I'm sure they'll take it into consideration when launching their next multi million dollar program that you referee from the sidelines. :1orglaugh
