                                          What is the point in having a justice system at all if the mob is going to convict and punish individuals who are found not guilty?

                                          She should be given a new identity and protected by the government. Not because she is not guilty, I haven't followed this but obviously she is a monster who should have been concivted... but to protect the legitimacy of our justice system.

                                          It is the main thing that sets us a part from the shitty places in the world where mobs of male religious fanatics stone women to death for being raped. Actually, it is the ONLY THING that prevents things like that.

                                                                                                                  the system failed and the mob is making up for that, i don't see a problem whatsoever. i do see a problem with the government paying for protection of a perpetrator that did not get found guilty due to a poor prosecution and a poor explanation of reasonable doubt by the judge to the jury.

                                                                                                                  the populace should not only NOT pay for that, they should take matters in their own hands and dole out street justice.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Did you see any of the lead prosecutors dozen or more interviews? He said he was going to retire but then this case came up and he decided, why not go out on a big case. So you've got a prosecutor past his prime deciding for his own careers sake that he should go out on a big case. You've got to understand that the state has all the evidence, they get first shot at everything, and they also get the last word on everything by law. They also leak whatever they want to the media to fuck up the jury pool, and prevent any exculpatory content from making it's way out to the media. Because it's all under their control until trial.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Instead of going for murder one with only circumstantial evidence, they could have put her away for a long, long time with a truckload of child neglect charges along with failing to report a kidnapping (her alibi), interfering with a police investigation (with her lies) and so on.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Even OJ's jury would have convicted her of those charges.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      An involuntary manslaughter charge would have been a slam dunk too, providing that they got a jury that could read without moving their lips.
