Only LA would turn a weekend freeway closure into the most talked about news story of the year. I swear I heard the word over 100 times in a 30 minute ABC news segment.
I guess people rather keep on driving on shitty roads. Also some high speed rail would eliminate a lot of that traffic too. But oh no we can't do that. That doesn't help the oil companies.

I need a new local network feed.
ya its freaking annoying! breaking news every 5-10 minutes so lame! when did people get so fucking stupid?
I was down in LA last weekend - Inland Empire really - and it was rather comical really. It's a fucking freeway, one of dozens. When they shut down a freeway, you just work around it. My god. Get over it already.
I've been making trips to SoCal for twenty years now. More than once the Grapevine and the 5 has been closed. That's the major freeway from LA to San Francisco and Sacramento. There's always ways around it.
