Update.

A friend recommended Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and I got the trial version. Seems the best bet. Cheap and child's play. So I'll ask my kid to teach me. :1orglaugh

No even a Grand dad can sort this out. :thumbsup

I can edit reel to reel on an editing deck and was taught by a very good editor.

I can edit, it's just that Adobe Premiere is a bit confusing for me, like many others. Was editing my own videos from 1988. So it seems another flame turned into a splutter.

No problem, it is a shame there is not the space to have an adult discussion on photography and film making on this forum. Maybe too few people interested in making anything a little more interesting.

People make a thread here and there about production. Everyone comes out of the wood work to share or add something. A lot of talented people around here..

I would love to discuss it with you, but it has to be open minded. I understand what you love. But don't feel it's possible in the porn business for 99% of the producers today. For the reasons of money.

However this isn't a photography and film making board. It's a porn for profit board.

When 10,000s of porn consumers want GF, amateur, reality type content or just free porn of any description, what you want to make is something that can only be done by a few of these.

Hank Londoner.
Joanie Alumn
Jack Harrison
Viv Thomas
Andrew Blake
Micheal Ninn
Steve Perry

And some of these guys are retired, going to retire or even out of the porn business.

Was that shoot you were on filming what you talk about or filing a normal top end porn film. Were you the director, producer, publisher or one of the crew? Please show us some of the finished product.

Look at Dave's site http://smutpeddlerproductions.com/sp/portfolio/video/ this is what this business is making money from.

So here are the screen grabs from the video I'm editing.

This project was soft core, for a UK cable TV channel. The brief was simple, record the trip, shoot some of the sets being shot, shoot some scenes and shoot interviews. Price $$8500 for UK rights. Not bad, it went towards paying for the trip. We took 5 girls and changed one over mid way through. We were there 2 weeks. My mate the stills shooter, shot 2 sets a day, we did some 5 girl sets as well.

Shot on a Beta Cam and edited to Beta cam then digitised. Now in editing.

No where near the definition quality of todays HD camera. It might give people an insight into what I shot on video over the years. No doubt it would look better with a modern HD camera, would the action be any better or different?

After I shot this there were 5 girls in the pool all playing with the hose, the noise was tremendous. The villa was on the top of a hill and standing in it's own grounds, no one near, to hear them.

I see you were remaking L'Arroseur Arrose from 1895, but without the gags,

About the turn of the century, cinema invented the Close Up, together with Wide Shots.

This then lets you compress and expand time with editing. So that you get rid of the boring bits and expand the juicy bits.

Saves the punter from having to FF which he has to do with your bog standard porn vid.

This is not what my videos were ever about.

The reason I shot it from far away was the water going everywhere, at one point I shouted to the girl "Not over me" as the spray was hitting me and the camera. And I didn't have a water proof camera.

IMO it doesn't have boring bits. Also if punters just want to watch the bump and grind, then we compete directly with Tube Sites. No character, personality, identity and the most important thing. No reason to spend money.

I asked you some questions about the movie set you were on, still waiting for an answer.

You think that porn is in its own world, where as long as there is a naked girl, everything else does not matter.

Watch a normal film. Notice that it is shot using Close Up, Medium Shots etc.. and edited NOT assembled. Why should porn be shot so badly ? *

The video you show is like some granny would shoot her children playing in the pool.

You, the film maker, have made no contribution to the scene, the way it is shot, the way it is directed, etc.... no vision

You are like the boy in class, who puts his hand up all the time, for the attention, but allways gets the answer wrong.

You say you are editing, but you show you do not know what the word means.

* because it still makes money, and most people want to make more money than art, and it is cheaper to shoot it badly. More KFC is sold than posh food.

Clueless remark after reading all I've posted.

Because porn isn't a normal film. And ROI

Your granny shoots girls having orgasms by a pool?

And this will always be the governing factor in porn. If I had all the skills you say you have, I wouldn't be shooting porn. There are far better avenues to work in.

You have a dream about how porn should be shot. In reality your dream is not possible for most people and never going to be possible for online porn. I would love to see hardcore shot like normal movies, with a great story, great direction, good actors, lighting, etc. And all the penetration and sex shots shown.

Do you know anyone who has done it? Andrew Blake and Micheal Ninn come close. But ultimately what you want isn't going to happen.

If you have shot it, please show us. No excuses actual proof. If you can't we know you're dreaming.

Nothing on your site gives me the idea you shot anything like you talk about. I asked you directly about the shots you showed of the film shoot. Wheres the sample, what type of movie was it, what was your roll on the shoot?

I guess you'll ignore this. Just like Damian, ignore what you can't back up.

What you are saying is you know how to "edit" porn, which as you show is an amateur squirting off video of a girl playing around in a pool.

In the real world this is not editing, just as what you showed is not good camera work, because a good cameraman shoots footage to be edited. For an editor to build a more powerful representation of reality.

There is no reason why an erotic film would be any different from any other film. In fact films like "The Story of O" or the recent French film "Leaving" show what is possible.

Just as you do not know how to use any non linear editing program you seem not to know about the new cameras like the Sony P3 and FS100 which allow cinema quality production.

Just as there has been a technical revolution in music production, there is one happening in video production too.

There is no problem in shooting 20 minutes of broadcast quality in a day. IF you know what you doing.

There is no point in posting material here because you show your contempt for normal culture, for example your ignorance of Czech cinema. If you don't like that why would you like what we are trying to do? Like the way you used "Art School" like an insult.

Do you not think there are valuble skills to be learnt in "Art School" or you don't believe in learning as well as "book learning"?

You set yourself up as a "teacher", I just point out that in my opinion you are misleading people.

Can you please show us example of your erotic porn scenes?

It will prove you can do what you talk about. If not to me to all the others, this is an open board. That's the point.

So I took a look at the tour.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/moviesmain.html

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_po...of_a_girl.html Nice start, the porn part is bog standard.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_shoplifter.html Nothing here that's not a normal upper market porn film.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_truefriends.html amateur

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_biblebashing.html Standard upper market DVD. Cheap location.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_theneighbour.html Getting better.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/long_goodbye.html Much better but tone down the music it hurts the ears.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_memories.html Not bad at all, except we could do with more feeling on the girls face.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_cream.html Not bad, bit amateur at the start still gets better. All spoiled by cheap music.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_mr_big.html Same cheap music.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_nurses.html no sound at all??

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_models.html Don't feel it. Not for me.

http://www.cinemaerotique.com/mov_internetbride.html been done on DVD over and over again. Needs a better location.

OK I see what you're trying to do and obviously like all of us hampered by budgets. Some of the movies look like they had a decent budget and some not. But what you talk about isn't shown in any of these films.

Your work doesn't come near what I think you're talking about. You need much bigger budgets, then you might get what you dream of. Look at Andrew Blake and Micheal Ninn for inspiration.

Cherry7 07-28-2011 03:13 PM

Nice of you to plug our trailers, but these films are not aimed at you.

You are not our target audience that is why your opinion is not of interest.

You have no professional knowledge or qualification in photography or film making, and what is worse you don't want to learn.

You think porn is interesting, we think it is a dead end.

You talk about budgets, but remember you decided NOT to spend the $3000 on showing us how it should be done.

Ditto you fool.

Target audience, you know nothing about my tastes in porn. You assume what I produce is only what I like. Even after I listed producers I like.

So your target audience wants something better and you deliver it with cheap music in the foreground.

You're a failure in the porn business, what ever level you think you're at. I've had 34 years of success. In that I make money.

Will give some more detailed critique on your porn. And yes this is the porn business.
