Republican Palin reports excellent 2011 fundraising

note - article massaged to increase truthiness...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The primary fundraising committee for Sarah Palin, who is bullshitting whether to seek the Republican presidential nomination, raised a hefty $1.6 million in the first half of 2011 in a sign that her bullshit is attracting big funds for her quitting her job & going fishing.

"That is huge," said Jan Baran, a partner at Wiley, Rein and former general counsel of the Republican National Committee. "It signifies there are lots of morons who are easily duped by sarah palin in the republican party."

The former Alaska governor, who was John McCain's vice presidential running mate on the Republicans' unsuccessful 2008 ticket, has said she will decide within months on whether to pursue the nomination.

The figures in a regulatory filing also are exciting because rules allow donors to give more to political action committees than to presidential committees, which allows sarah to fund her lavish travel & vacations.

The money raised by Palin's political action committee SarahPAC is small in comparison to the $18.25 million that Republican front-runner Mitt Romney's presidential committee collected in the second quarter alone, suggesting the bullshit only goes so far.

Several other contenders to take on Democratic President Barack Obama next year have raised more than $4 million in the quarter. But Palin needs less money at the start of a presidential run because the money is not intended for running.

Still, she will need significantly more than $1 million to hire staff and travel the country should she enter the race, Baran said. That is, assuming there are more dumbasses to fleece before deciding not to run.

The appeal of Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, may be usurped by Representative Michele Bachmann, another star of the fox news created Tea Party movement who appeals to some of the same anti-government neaderthal voters.

If you think all that big money is being spent for the good of America, it's citizens or anything but the good of the donors.

I have a bridge to sell you.

think about that

Mitch McConnell will be eating a lot of crow soon.

His "number one goal" has ZERO chance of coming to fruition.

Good for her. Even if she does secure the nomination... which would be a horrible move for the neo cons... she'll lose.

Obama's fundraising is a record $86 million

Quote:
President Barack Obama's re-election arm raised a record $86 million from April to June , illustrating strong enthusiasm among Democrats and providing the president with enough money to set up extensive campaign operations more than a year before Election Day.

Obama's fundraising haul, which his campaign announced in a video Wednesday morning, is the most any presidential candidate has ever raised during this time frame. More than half the total, about $47 million, was given directly to Obama, with the other $38 million or so going to the Democratic National Committee.

Obama's total dwarfs the amount raised by Republican Mitt Romney, who with $18.5 million led the field of candidates vying to take on the president. In fact, the president's amount tops the $35 million taken in by all the Republican hopefuls combined.
If $ 1.6 million is "excellent," what is $ 86 million? Bwahahahahaaha

They don't, but not because she is a Maverick it is because she has next to zero chance of winning the general election. They even changed the primary rules so that it would be harder for her to win the nomination. The republicans know that Obama could be weak because the economy still sucks so they have a shot here, they don't want to waste it.
