how much ram is typically need to run a site with 50 - 100k user daily?????

depends on the scripts involved you might be able to get away with 2 gigs you might need 8 gigs.

ok so what's like the bare minimum most sites run in general with a decent amount of traffic... im trying to figure out how much ram i should buy and etc

what script is the site running? the question is pointless without this information

well at the moment no scripts are being ran... they are just plain html pages with the exception of simple php cookie redirect script

then likely ram is not going to be an issue at all, 1 gb should be ok

thanks for the reply and the rep said something about cpu power or something like that... i think i have 3.3Ghz vCPU is that good enough for 50k - 100k users a day and does page size make a size in any of this on my biggest site id like the page site to be no bigger then 100kbs and smaller ones around 15kbs... not sure if any of that made sense and etc but thanks for an answer of you have one and to everyone else to if they answer

i once had a celeron server with 128 mb or so and there this worked fine

ram is cheap as chips. put in as much as the motherboard will support.

Have the host disable all of the Apache you don't use and you want need much RAM. Linux IS smart enough to make use of any extra thou. You can always add more later, so fire static pages I'd probably start with 2 , 4 GB. Static pages use maybe 5% of the RAM and 2% of the CPU that most PHP across use.

One way to figure it is 1-2 GB for the OS plus enough to cache all of the files needed for your main your pages. Your tour pages aren't using hundreds to thousands of MB of databases and libraries. Rather, your attic tour is probably a few MB.

thanks.... not sure if you saw this but i think i have 3.3Ghz vCPU is that good enough for 50k - 100k on a static html page and the biggest site page is about 100kbs and the others are like 15kbs, im not sure if page sizes really make that much of a difference as far ram and cpu and etc, especially if the pages are not to big....
