Based on your statement, I'm guessing you are more or less stuck there. I was there by choice and that tends to change the perspective a bit.
That being said, I don't believe I would ever choose to live there. I'm just not that close to my sister.
Awesome pics Aaron and Tom. Looks like you had a great time and enjoyed the time off. We’re putting our boat in Dale Hollow Lake Thursday and will be fishing all weekend and spending the 4th on the water. We are taking a trip into Kentucky to see the Makers Mark distillery Friday if the rain holds off. Tennessee is such a beautiful place. I just got a place here to be closer to my parents when I visit.

i need to give special thanks to 3xtom and fam for inviting us to join the family for a week on their floating house in tn. This was one of the best vacations i have ever had and it truly sucks that it's now over. That being said, the memories will last a lifetime. We can't wait until next time.
the weather was pretty varied. I've never seen storms like the ones that came through. At one point, the sunny sky turned from blue to dark gray in under 2 minutes and we watched as a thunder storm raced across the lake and brought a massive vertical rain shower with it. The winds were blowing furniture off the deck but 10 minutes later things calmed down and we were soaking in the hot tub watching the 360 degree views of lightning in the surrounding hills.
Up at 5:30 every morning for some fishing then back to the house for breakfast. Back out for more fishing, return for lunch. Switch boats and head out for wake boarding, tubing, etc...switch boats again for more fishing...then dinner, more fishing, swimming, etc... No cell phone and no internet access.
All of the experiences were amazing and i can not think of better people to share those moments with. The only regret i have is not taking more pics around the lake.
I started thinking about this and figured you may be fucking with me so I checked it out.
No shit, the distillery is in a dry county......
It's seems crazy that they are allowed to make it, but can't drink a drop legally.....
Been that way for a long time and I've been there before so I had zero expectations of getting samples.
They are however allowed to sell commemorative bottles because they are meant for collections not consumption.....Although a number of people consume them anyway which only helps the value of those that are left full.
I picked up 4 different bottles that you can only buy at the Distillery...or eBay for higher prices.
