Fucking ICQ.... Anyone else have this problem?????

    Fucking ICQ.... Anyone else have this problem?????

    So last week I decided to sync ICQ with my Facebook and Twitter accounts... welp, big mistake. It did the integration just fine but then suddenly deleted OVER HALF of my existing contacts in the process.

    Anyone else experience this problem? What a huge fucking bummer.

    Can anyone recommend me an alternative client. Is Pidgin good, or whatever its called?

    I'm glad more and more people are making the transition to Skype, been talking with an increasing number of people on there each and every day it seems.

    Long story short, I'm pissed. If you talk to me regularly on ICQ, please drop me a message real quick so that I can re-add you!!

                                                          I didnt do shit but start mine up and it deleted a lot of contacts... the ones I use day to day at that! It could have deleted half the idiots who continue to waste my time, but no, all my important contacts.

                                                                      rule # 1 .... dont change anything on icq, or its fucked. I had to reinstall everything last time I tried to change things, no more ! I gradually steer all contacts over to skype

                                                                              dude, same here! It deleted everyone from the office and the rest of the people I talk to every.single.day.

                                                                              I'll take a look at these recommendations later tonight and see if I can make a switch.

                                                                                      I'm about to ditch ICQ all together. Last week I lost several of my contacts that I have had for years. It's the most unreliable piece of software and I'm baffled why we still use it in this industry.

                                                                                          I still use ICQ, but I let it stand alone. I don't even activate the FB feeds it uses. I had them on for awhile, but it became too annoying.

                                                                                          Of course, I use Skype too... who doesn't?

                                                                                                      I'm started moving to skype this week. ICQ is just a mess. And it's really sad there hasn't been a more concerted effort in adult to move the industry off of it.

                                                                                                          It's totally unacceptable that a piece of software would do that... and function (or in this case not function) that poorly.

                                                                                                          I'm hoping for an industry wide push to Skype by the end of 2012 lol.

I say it can be done in three months, roll into Fall without the crashes, contact dumps, and general poor performance. Maybe we can get a banner spot here on GFY.
