I've got an E55amg which is one of my daily drivers. It's been a solid car since day one. It is loaded with all the options, and with the exception of the keyless go it's done fine.

The new c-class is a 7sp. The specs on mercedes site, show it's 0-60 at 7.1secs. More than fast enough for my mother.

Give her a choice. Pick three cars instead of one. Get pretty brochures from the dealers. Let her enjoy the gameshow aspect of it. She can choose the color, the car etc... She will likely end up picking the same car you would have chosen for her, but the act of choosing is its own reward as well. Mothers generally like to be 'advised and asked' much more than they like to be 'given or told' what to do. :2 cents:

She has been in the loop. She looked at the website with me and decided she liked silver. I just bought it on the phone a few minutes ago for a Wednesday morning delivery. We went a bit further and got one loaded with most of the options and she is very pleased.

1st I gave her a K car, can't remember which one. Then I gave them a lincoln grand marquis, 90s, not a new one. They ran both of them into the ground.

Also bailed her out on her mortgage a few times. She still lost the house.

Just felt like bitching. I don't get her nice cars cause she can't maintain her things.

I plan on getting my mom one of these - http://www.buick.com/enclave.html

She's always been a huge fan of Buick (don't know why and I don't like them, but she deserves what she wants).

I was kidding. I let my mom drive our 335 and she didn't know what to do with it. It was sad and pathetic. Then I let my dad drive it, and it was a similar experience...

The power was completely wasted with them. They'd be fine with 50hp, and even that might be pushing it.

I would go with the Volvo S-60 with All Wheel Drive.

Closest Bentley dealer is in Chicago. I have to take my Lambo down there for service and it's a pain in the ass.

My mother has been hinting around that she would like something. I am thinking about a C-class 300 4matic. Anyone have any experience with one?

Buy her a Volvo
They don't look too bad and nothing is safer

Goldmaniacs 08-21-2011 06:19 PM

She stopped by the office last week and told me she has never enjoyed driving like she does now. The C class was clearly a win.

This is a car for your mom. Why would she need a SUV?
